Juan David Romero is a Paris-based filmmaker, journalist, and multimedia professional with a focus on human rights. He directed Unbroken Paradise, An Iraqi Belly Dancer, and Black in Ukraine, documentaries showcased at global festivals like the Global Impact Film Festival, Amnesty International's Human Rights Film Festival, and Tunisia's Mawjoudin Queer Film Festival, the only LGBT festival in North Africa. Currently, he leads multimedia operations at That’s Y Media and serves as lead video editor for the Civil Liberties Union for Europe. His past roles include video work with Médecins Sans Frontières and the United Nations Office of the Victims' Rights Advocate. Romero’s background includes journalism and video production with Brut, refugee aid in Europe, and work with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. A University of Central Florida alumnus, he holds a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Film and has published poetry in several literary magazines.

Diana is a Creative Producer and Production Manager that started her company, Moukda Production together with Kèota Dengmanara, 3 years ago. Moukda Production specialises in animation, especially stop motion for TV, cinema & digital screens. A first project, ZOOBOX, 26 minutes TV Special directed by Myriam Schott is currently in development with France 5 and will also be distributed in cinemas by Folimage. Diana graduated a Production Management Course in Gobelins (France) and from a BA in Fine Art Sculpture, Coventry University (UK) in 2012, she currently works and lives between Lille and Paris. Diana has worked as a Vfx Production Supervisor for blockbuster films such as Despicable Me 3 and The Secret Life of Pets, but also as a Project Leader of Season of the Force (Star Wars - Disneyland Paris) & Summer of the Heroes (Marvel - Disneyland Paris), two projects involving video projection mapping & live action. In 2018, Diana has completed ASF - Animation sans frontières, an international development lab for directors and producers focussing on international coproductions and ran by Filmakademie in Germany, MOME in Hungary, The Animation Workshop in Denmark and GOBELINS France. ASF, was an opportunity for both coproduction and development for Diana and the team at Moukda Production: upon meeting Spanish director Jose Prats, Moukda Production decided to coproduce Umbrellas together. Also, the first pitch of the animated transmedia project, Starting with hope was developed during this time. Starting with hopes is an animated series and digital platform that aims to give a voice to people that are battling or have battled with depression.

As a documentary filmmaker, I produce and direct compelling stories that explore the complex realities and challenges of our world. I have worked on the ground from Sudan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, DRC, Libya, Chad, Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, the Gaza Strip, and a rescue ship in the Mediterranean, often in hostile locations and on sensitive content. I shoot on a wide variety of cameras (C70/C300/FS5/ FS7/ FX6) and I have a strong cinematic sensibility and an intimate documentary approach. Ethics of representation and informed consent are key to my work and I am hostile environment trained. I work extensively using open-source investigation techniques and I offer trainings at Al Jazeera Media Institute. My latest data-driven investigation produced for the BBC’s Africa Eye 'death on the Border' documents with exceptional and forensic detail the deaths at the border between Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Melilla. In addition to my filmmaking, I hold a PhD in Political Communication, International Relations, and Human Rights at Dublin City University, where I have been awarded a Marie Sklodowska Curie fellowship to conduct research at the Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society. My scholarly work focuses on the intersection of technology, transitional justice, human rights law, and fundamental freedoms. I am a member of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, the International Federation of Journalists, and the National Union of Journalists for the UK and Ireland. I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to create impactful and meaningful media that informs, engages, and inspires audiences.

I am 25 years old, and I live in Paris. I graduated from Sciences-Po (B.A political sciences) and La Sorbonne (B.A philosophy), and I am currently in my final year of study at La Fémis (M.A directing), the national film school of France. Over the past few years, I directed several feature documentaries, on issues such as migration, african football, and french suburbs. They were shown in film festivals worldwide. Besides, I also made (wrote, shot, edited) two short reports (5min) for Canal + and a series of 7 portraits for the french media L'Express. My name is Jules I'm 28 years old and I was born and raised in Paris, France. I have a bachelor degree in Cinema studies from la Sorbonne University (Paris, France) I Also studied Audiovisual communication at Carlos III University (Madrid, Spain) and Cinema Studies at IAD (Institut des arts de diffusion) in Brussels, Belgium.
