I'm a freelance filmmaker and video journalist focused primarily on documentary projects. I'm currently picking up short-term gigs as a Freelance Producer, Editor, or Videographer while I work on a part-time commissioned short documentary based out of Nebraska. I most recently finished working on a project with production company Meerkat Media on a commission from Sesame Street in Communities. The project entails documentary-style educational videos about how to talk to kids about race and racism through observing real families in conversation with their children. Prior to delving into full-time freelance life, I worked as an Associate Producer on seven feature-length historic documentaries produced by CNN Specials as well as an observational film produced by HBO Max/CNN Films. Independently, with my production partner Sana A. Malik, I produced, shot, and edited the student BAFTA-award winning documentary, Guanajuato Norte. The film follows a migrant farmworker in Connecticut and his sacrifice of being away from his family to provide a better life for his children. The film went on to screen multiple film festivals and was acquired by The New Yorker’s Documentary Channel. I also co-directed the short film, Chief Standing Bear's Journey to Statuary Hall, for the Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs with Judi gaiashkibos (co-director and EP.) Together, we made a film to be used as an educational resource, following the historical story of Ponca Chief Standing Bear and the modern-day journey of building a statue of his likeness to stand in the U.S. Capitol. In addition to working as a Director/Producer on commissioned short films and personal projects, I love helping established Director’s visions come to life as an Associate Producer, Editor, or Second Camera. I’m easily curious but particularly drawn toward stories about migration, family, social justice, and the meaning of home.

Hello there! My name is Spencer Bruttig and I am a Washington, D.C. based film producer, DP and editor. I came out to DC from San Francisco to help start a new documentary and podcast production company (Tegna and Vault Studios) but most recently joined Google as an in-house creative producer working on their marketing team. I am also the Cinematographer on the D.C. based narrative series "Anacostia," as well as the Baltimore Comedy series "Thespian." I am also the DP on the new reality television show "City Boyz DC." Leah Galant is a Jewish filmmaker and Fulbright Scholar based in New York whose storytelling focuses on unexpected narratives that challenge perceptions. In 2021 she was recognized as one of DOC NYC’s 40 under 40. While at Ithaca College in 2015 she was named one of Variety’s "110 Students to Watch in Film and Media” for her work on THE PROVIDER that follows a traveling abortion doctor in Texas (SXSW 2016, Student Emmy Award) and BEYOND THE WALL about a formerly incarcerated individuals re-entry process. She was a Sundance Ignite and Jacob Burns Fellow where she created DEATH METAL GRANDMA (SXSW 2018) about a 97 year old Holocaust survivor named Inge Ginsberg who sings death metal which won “Best Documentary” at the American Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival, and is a NY Times Op Doc. Leah is a member of Meerkat Media worker-cooperative film production company. Leah's directorial debut ON THE DIVIDE premiered at the Tribeca 2021 Film Festival and will broadcast on POV PBS in the Spring of 2022 which she also shot.

Over the last 18 years, I have worked in almost every field of film, TV and video production and television journalism, and have spent the last nine years managing my own news and media production company. I have an excellent knowledge of the industry, as well as a proven track record of running a company and managing staff, projects and budgets. I have lived and worked in many different countries, all over the world, producing anything from news and feature stories, to sport, to branded content and everything in between. As well as possessing exceptional writing skills, my work in TV and new media, has given me a unique skill set, enabling me to get a message out to the widest possible audience, in the most engaging way and often to a tight budget. Working as a video journalist/producer, I have acquired further skills as a story-teller. I am an excellent lighting cameraman and video editor, filming on a wide range of cameras and formats and able to script and edit to tight deadlines. I am also a skilled Steadicam operator, with my own rig, suitable for most requirements. Post-production-wise, I consider myself an expert in the use of Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects, as well as several other programs in the Creative Suite. I also regularly edit with Final Cut Pro, Avid and Davinci Resolve. I am equally at home in the pre-production office, in front or behind the camera, in the edit suite or in a live studio environment. Gabriella A. Moses is an award-winning director, writer, and production designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Sam Baumel is Principal and Founder of Wood Metal Rocks, a production company based in New York City. Sam works with brands, local businesses and nonprofits to find an authentic voice and translate their story for the screen. He takes pride in cultivating longstanding collaborative relationships with specialists across the media and creative technology spectrum. Sam has been producing video for a decade and is particularly dedicated to the development of virtual reality as a medium for artistic expression. His work has been showcased at festivals, galleries and in publications around the globe. Sam studied business and film production at NYU and University of London. He volunteers teaching photography with the Slideluck Youth Initiative and attends the Video Consortium Book Club. For leisure, Sam enjoys walking, bicycling and kayaking to the City’s most sacred spots.

Hi! I'm Dave and I love making documentary films and podcasts. Most recently, I was doing just that at CNN's Great Big Story. I've been a Storyhunter user on the company side for years, and now I'm so excited to be able to collaborate with folks on the freelance side and bring their visions to life.
