I'm a filmmaker who has worked on numerous corporate, reality TV, youtube channels, documentary and even a few indie feature films, I am a music composer and on occasion, performer. I'm most interested in the subjects of travel, adventure, music and the arts, as well as cultural anthropology, philosophy and indigenous mythology. I've worked throughout the U.S., in in the jungles of Costa Rica, the wilds of Alaska, the chaotic cities and rural villages of India and along the beautiful East coast of Australia. I've been able to work in nearly every capacity on projects ranging from corporate, industrial, documentary, feature narrative and webisode. My work has been showcased at SXSW, FRIARS COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL, ALAMO DRAFT HOUSE and more places that I'm sure I have not been told about. Some projects thankfully are still "making the rounds". While much of my work consists as Director of Photography and Editor my forte' is conceptual thinking and directing people in such a way as to get the best performance from them, crew or cast.

I have several years’ experience shooting and editing high quality videos and photos for companies such as Cadillac, and Silicone Labs. I have shot testimonials and interviews where I have been responsible for camera operation, lighting, sound, editing, and giving interviews. Ryan cut his teeth in photography while living in the vibrant and sometimes volatile, Francophone region of Central Africa. He finished university in 2008 and made his home in Rwanda and The Democratic Republic of Congo for the next five years. Covering conflicts and humanitarian crisis', he scoured the continent, eventually spreading into Asia and Latin America, notching over 70 countries and finding a comfort and truth within the world's most desolate, dangerous and beautiful places. His work, both the still and motion image, has been featured in award winning films, international publications, and aired across the US, Europe, and Africa. His most recent project has been working as a Director of Photography for The Last Animals, a documentary about the elephant and rhino poaching crisis within Central Africa and its connections to international terrorism. The Last Animals premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has since toured the international film festival scene winning multiple awards. Ryan currently lives between Africa, France, and Texas; wherever his wife and daughter are is where home will always be.
