I record and design sound for storytellers and interactive media makers. I appreciate patient film making and vérité approaches to sound design. I was the sound director of the Peabody award winning and Emmy nominated interactive documentary HOLLOW. My production venture SLO is the result of an interest in combining natural aural aesthetics and observational film, creating space in media for reflection, activity and critical thought. I’m a classically trained electronic musician and pitched percussionist. I’m also an avid collector of records - ‘50’s cowboy music, old SFX compilations and ‘80’s synth jams being some of my favorites. I’m a fervent Star Trek fan. Jason Jaacks is a filmmaker and photographer focused on social and environmental issues. He’s ducked the border into Mexico with traditional leaders of the Tohono O’odham tribe, spent a year documenting a Native American spoken word team, and led a source-to-sea expedition down the Elwha River. His most recent film, Silent River, follows a young woman as she defies death threats to save one of the most polluted rivers in Mexico. Jason has produced video for National Geographic, MSNBC, Discovery Digital, PBS, and Fusion, among others. He is a National Geographic Explorer and holds a Masters of Journalism from UC Berkeley.

David Helfer Wells is a film-maker and photographer who divides his time between Providence, Rhode Island and Bangalore, India. One day you can find him creating still and moving images for clients, such as Edible Rhody and the Providence Preservation Society on the unique local culture of America’s smallest state. Other days he may be working on personal/grant funded projects on the beautiful Narragansett Bay with the support of Rhode Island’s Council for Humanities and State Council on the Arts. In India’s “Silicon City” Bangalore, he is busy creating visual narratives for clients such as Bryn Mawr College and Aramco World or working on personal/grant funded projects supported by the Fulbright and Alicia Patterson Foundations. He has worked on assignment for such magazines as Fortune, Life, National Geographic, Newsweek, The Sunday New York Times, and Time, among others. One editor described him as a “…specialist in intercultural communication and visual narratives that excel in their creative mastery of light, shadow and sound, stills and video.” His project on the pesticide poisoning of California farm workers was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize by the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also worked for corporations such as Consolidated Natural Gas and DuPont as well as for non-profits such as the Ford Foundation and the New Israel Fund.

My company, Harken Productions, has been around since 1997 producing social issue oriented videos and running a youth media program since 2002. My first film Death: A Love Story premiered in documentary competition at Sundance in 1999, won several festivals, played national PBS, and is now available in over 400 colleges and universities here and in Canada. Robert Isenberg is an award-winning writer, videographer, and licensed commercial drone pilot. He works as a full-time videographer for the Jewish Alliance/JCC of Greater Rhode Island. An active freelancer, he has contributed video work to the BBC, The Phoenix New Times, WQED, and many other entities. He worked for two years as a staff reporter for The Tico Times of Costa Rica, where he produced scores of short videos. He was awarded Best Documentary Director at the Block Island Film Festival in 2021. He is currently based in Providence, Rhode Ireland.
