I grew up in Italy where I studied music and photography. I've worked in Italy and Europe as a musician and photographer until I received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music where I studied percussion performance as well as music production in Boston, during my 4 years in Boston I also worked as a camera operator and photographer for many of the shows at the "Berklee performance center" and for independent artists of the Boston area. After Berklee, I moved to NYC where i continued working on visuals and sound. In 2015 i opened my own multimedia studio in Brooklyn, Studio42, where I produced videos and music, from live performances to promo and documentary interviews, managing the photography, camera work, and post-production. I am an Italy-born freelance multimedia journalist based in Brooklyn, NY. I've covered various national stories for Fusion TV and the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange, shooting and editing video news stories and short documentaries. Alex H. Gómez is the Founder, Creative Director, and Director of Photography of Intercultural Productions, a production company specializing in culturally appropriate media. He is a native Colombian and has been in the film and journalism fields for over twenty-five years. Alex is an award-winning documentary director whose work has been shown internationally. In Colombia, he worked as a producer and documentary director at TelePacifico. Although his work covered diverse areas concerning the lives of Colombians, much of it centered on indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities in order to raise awareness about their lives, perspectives, and hopes for the future. After moving to the US, Alex created Intercultural Productions as a way to break down barriers between different cultures and groups of people and use communications tools for promoting equity and understanding. Alex holds a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and social issues and it permeates through everything he does.
