After leaving his beloved Costa Rica, he created CNN's Adventure Report, covering over one hundred social impact stories in over 30 countries. Frustrated with prohibitive corporate policies, he left CNN to launch an independent project: Subite al Chunche ("Hop on the 'Chunche'", the name of his car) which documented the journey of driving from Costa Rica to the 2014 Brazil World Cup. Ben Addelman is the director of four award winning feature documentaries. His first two films Discordia (2004) and Bombay Calling (2006) were both produced by the National Film Board of Canada and screened at dozens of festivals around the world. Bombay Calling was nominated for the 2007 Gemini Award for Best Social Political Documentary and premiered at Hot Docs.
