I'm a filmmaker who has worked on numerous corporate, reality TV, youtube channels, documentary and even a few indie feature films, I am a music composer and on occasion, performer. I'm most interested in the subjects of travel, adventure, music and the arts, as well as cultural anthropology, philosophy and indigenous mythology. Gabriella Nova (f.k.a. Parsons) is a Midwest-born-and-raised 90s kid, visual storyteller and freelance documentary filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. She is currently a seasonal producer for SXSW Film Festival. Gabriella’s work centers on community empowerment, social justice, identity and belonging. Andrew Gonzales is a documentary filmmaker, director and commercial cinematographer. Andrew’s lens is usually focused on stories of underdogs on their journey to fight for their survival. This theme is strong in his recent projects: Standing Rock: A New Nation, a vignette about The Dakota Access Pipeline Protests, HERE: The Garrett Scott Story, which follows MMA Fighter Garrett Scott in his climb to compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regardless of the handicap and Right In Front of Us, which highlights the current US-Mexico Border Crisis and its impact on the communities affected by it. Amy Bench is a cinematographer and filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. She took a circuitous path to filmmaking, first working as an engineer for Eastman Kodak before pursuing an MFA in directing at UT (2010). She has been twice nominated for the Kodak Excellence in Cinematography Award and has won grants from the International Documentary Association (IDA), Austin Film Society (Texas Filmmaker’s Production Fund), Women in Film- Dallas, and the Department of Education’s Jacob K. Davits Fellowship, and is currently a member of the Austin Contemporary’s multidisciplinary artist group The Crit Group. She was recently named a “DP on the Rise” by Paste Magazine. As a cinematographer her credits include TRANS IN AMERICA (Emmy, 2019), UPROOTED (HBO Max, NAACP Image Award nomination, 2022), BAD AT DANCING (Silver Bear, Berlinale, 2015), HOLY HELL (Sundance, 2016) and RUNNING WITH BETO (SXSW, 2019). Her camera work has won an Emmy, 2 Webby awards, and has screened at festivals including Berlin, SXSW, Sundance, The New York Film Festival, and at MOMA/PS1. She is the Director of Photography on three features premiering at SXSW in March: Mama Bears (dir Daresha Kyi- Chavela), Lover Beloved (dir Michael Tully- Ping Pong Summer), and Shouting Down Midnight (dir Gretchen Stoeltje-Bionic Beauty Salon). Ryan cut his teeth in photography while living in the vibrant and sometimes volatile, Francophone region of Central Africa. He finished university in 2008 and made his home in Rwanda and The Democratic Republic of Congo for the next five years. Covering conflicts and humanitarian crisis', he scoured the continent, eventually spreading into Asia and Latin America, notching over 70 countries and finding a comfort and truth within the world's most desolate, dangerous and beautiful places. His work, both the still and motion image, has been featured in award winning films, international publications, and aired across the US, Europe, and Africa. His most recent project has been working as a Director of Photography for The Last Animals, a documentary about the elephant and rhino poaching crisis within Central Africa and its connections to international terrorism. The Last Animals premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has since toured the international film festival scene winning multiple awards. Carlos Estrada is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree focusing on film production, film history, and poetry. He has worked in Birmingham, Alabama as a videographer and editor for the non-profit Impact Alabama. He recently participated in the Southern Exposure Film Fellowship, which brings documentary filmmakers from around the world to create short documentaries about environmental injustices in the state of Alabama.
