Joe began his professional career as the founder and Executive Director of The Unexpected Laboratory, a creative production company that confronted current affairs with multimedia storytelling. Now called Round Room Image, his company focuses on international nonfiction media production. He just returned from shooting a feature film in Venezuela and from working for the Witness Program of Al Jazeera Network in Doha, Qatar. He has filmed educational videos with the Deaf community in Ethiopia, photographed political rallies in Pakistan, and has advanced Spanish language skills from his time in Cuba and Chile. Carey is a photojournalist and cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY. After ten action-packed years as a staff photographer at the Sun Sentinel, Fresno Bee, Desert Sun and Auburn Journal, she went independent in 2011 to pursue work about women around the world. Over the last 18 years, I have worked in almost every field of film, TV and video production and television journalism, and have spent the last nine years managing my own news and media production company. I have an excellent knowledge of the industry, as well as a proven track record of running a company and managing staff, projects and budgets. I have lived and worked in many different countries, all over the world, producing anything from news and feature stories, to sport, to branded content and everything in between. My experience overseas has given me a truly unique perspective on global current affairs and has fostered a deep interest in exploring every story I come across from as many different perspectives as I can see. I also have experience of working in conflict zones, covering major riots in China in 2008 and 2009, and I was in Libya for one month, during the fall of Tripoli, working for APTN. As well as possessing exceptional writing skills, my work in TV and new media, has given me a unique skill set, enabling me to get a message out to the widest possible audience, in the most engaging way and often to a tight budget. Working as a video journalist/producer, I have acquired further skills as a story-teller. I am an excellent lighting cameraman and video editor, filming on a wide range of cameras and formats and able to script and edit to tight deadlines. I am also a skilled Steadicam operator, with my own rig, suitable for most requirements. Post-production-wise, I consider myself an expert in the use of Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects, as well as several other programs in the Creative Suite. She won the "Best Documentary Award" at the XIII Vebron Festival in France. At the end of 1998 America arrived in New York City, where she studied documentary film at the New School. Michael Eckels was born in Middlebury Vermont as the youngest of five children. His parents are both math teachers. He grew up heavily immersed in cross-country skiing, a sport he enjoys to this day. Michael received a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont, with additional intensive studies at London’s University of Westminster. After college he served as a Peace Corps volunteer English teacher in far eastern Russia outside of Vladivostok. From literature and languages he moved to news and documentary photography at The Moscow Times and Agence France-Presse. With the progression of digital video technology into still cameras, Michael began to expand his horizons into cinema. He received an M.F.A. in directing/screenwriting for film and television from NYU Tisch Schools of the Arts. Michael maintains a broad range of visual and textual interests. Soraya Auer is a freelance multimedia journalist based in New York City, who has reported in Europe, the U.S. and South Asia. Eunice is a producer/director based in New York City, and a recipient of Tribeca Film Institute’s All-Access Grant, Chicken & Egg Pictures Accelerator Lab Grant, and ITVS Diversity Development Fund. I’m a multimedia journalist born in Cuba, currently based in New York City. I moved to the U.S. in 2016 to pursue a Master's degree in Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, as part of the inaugural class of the Spanish-Language Concentration. I’ve previously worked as a reporter in Havana, Cuba, and covered several events that shape the new relations between Cuba and the United States. I reported on President Obama’s visit, the reopening of the American embassy in Havana and the Rolling Stones' concert, among other events. While at CUNY, my work is especially focused on minority groups, immigrants, and the role of religion among this diverse Latino communities in New York City. I discovered the story of a Lutheran priest who has adopted 27 minors in an attempt to save them from deportation. I have also travelled to Israel and the West Bank on a reporting trip during June of 2017. In the summer of 2017, I settled in California to intern with Emblematic Group, a Virtual, augmented and mixed Realities production company based in Los Angeles.

I like weird people and weird people like me. I am a multi-platform reporter with a passion for visuals. I came into journalism through photography, where I am well versed in breaking news, long-term features, portraiture and pretty much everything in between.
