The name Selva City (selva is Jungle in Spanish) comes from experiencing Urban jungles across the US, Europe, Africa, The Caribbean and Latin America. I've produced and directed stories for VICE Media, ESPN Deportes, ABC, HBO and a bunch of online properties. In addition to producing and directing, I shoot, write, edit and am comfortable in front of the camera. I'm certified in hostility training, first aid and first response. I'm a documentary filmmaker and camerawoman with a passion for social justice. Armed with little more than a camera and backpack, I have traveled the world documenting stories from the margins, inspired by legions of women, workers, activists and young people dedicating their lives and loves to social change. From Aids orphans in Kenya, green truck drivers in Long Beach, grandmother abalone divers in Japan and maids in Las Vegas, I'm constantly inspired by stories that not only move us, but move us to action. My films have won awards in film festivals and my work been broadcast on PBS, Al Jazeera, BBC and CBC, but I am most proud of the work I am now doing with GlobalGirl Media, www.globalgirlmedia.org, a non-profit which empowers young women from under-served communities in digital journalism. Justin L. Stewart is an independent visual journalist from Jackson Hole, Wyoming who is currently based in Los Angeles, California. Justin earned his Master of Arts in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri and his Bachelor of Arts in Film & Photography from Montana State University - Bozeman. He likes to work on projects that utilize his videography and photography skills - or any that give him a reason to fly his drone. Dayna is a recent graduate of Chapman University, where she received an MFA in film production, with an emphasis in directing. She has written and directed 9+ short narrative and documentary films. For documentary work, she has traveled to Kenya and across the United States. She hopes to speak to social issue themes in her narrative films, inspired by her undergraduate background studying comparative politics at Princeton University. Her independent research at Princeton focused on refugees and victims of trafficking. Her short film “Qafas” about a family in Syria was recently nominated for a Student Short Jury Award at Austin Film Festival. Her thesis “Aurora” was supported by the Zonta Club of Newport Harbour Award of 2019 through Chapman University’s prestigious Women in Focus Award. My documentary origin story is an unlikely one. I graduated from Skidmore College with a degree in Modern Dance and Creative Writing. After a colorful stint as an au pair in France, I made my way to the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, ME where I studied radio and multimedia production. It wasn’t long before I was hooked. On I went to NPR and PRX's State of the Re:Union where I worked on an hour of stories about transgender life in America. Then, I came to NPR West in Los Angeles to work as a Production Intern for Weekend All Things Considered. And now, I'm taking off across the United States with my partner and collaborator, Steven B. Jackson, in search of our country's untold stories.

I have been a freelance journalist in Hong Kong for four years. I was an anchor for NHK World, the international English channel of Japan's public broadcaster in HK. In addition to anchoring, I have produced many TV reports, most of them are finance-related. I have also co-produced a few documentaries featuring the social problems in contemporary China, such as children trafficking and cancer villages. I relocated to Taiwan and started to work for a media company full time in 2013. It is a new experience for me and I would like to document this interesting city with camera. I think this is a place that's under appreciated and has many hidden stories that are just waiting to be told.
