Fatiha Belfakir is a freelance reporter. She has been writing professionally since 2018. As a reporter, she has found herself passionate about a variety of interests, including current events, culture, and politics to name a few. She worked for the Extremist Watch Desk at Voice of America, where she was provided with extensive exposure to news collection, interpretation, and analysis. She covered international affairs and she wrote about terrorism, human right abuse, and crimes. At the Baltimore Times, Fatiha Belfakir is covering Health, education and racism in the State of Maryland. She is constantly learning new techniques to tell a story to both local and international viewers. Additionally, Fatiha Belfakir has a master’s degree in Journalism from Georgetown University, a master’s in international Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University, and a master’s degree in public administration from Strayer University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Languages and Communication Studies from the Highest Institutes for Languages and Communication Studies (ILCS) in Rabat, Morocco and completed her senior year at Lock Haven University, Pennsylvania under an international students exchange program.
