A documentary about a cross-cultural drinking culture.
Aziz Nasin was a famous Turkish writer, translator and satirist whose writings have been translated into more than 30 languages, including Persian. He was repeatedly tried and imprisoned for his harsh criticism of religious leaders and of the government. In more recent years, he openly clashed with religious groups and began translating Salman Rushdie’s book “Satanic Verses.” In this video report, Mehdi Shabani follows the story of this Turkish intellectual who died nearly thirty years ago, but whose thoughts and writings are still alive and well.
