About

Obtained her bachelor’s degree in Film Producing from AFDA in 2006. Awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship in 2016, where she obtained her MFA in Film from Syracuse University, graduate of 2019. Between 2006 and 2022 she has worked as a Production Manager, Assistant Director and Production Coordinator in Cape Town’s fast growing service industry which has led to working on notable international productions One Piece (2022), Raised by Wolves S3 (2021) amongst many other productions. Hlumela has directed, shot and produced several short films selected and screened at various international film festivals including the prestigious Edinburgh Short Film Festival and the New York African Film Festival.
