Özge Sebzeci is a photographer and journalist based in Istanbul, Turkey. Born next to the Bosphorus, Özge’s reporting and photography reveals a seldom-seen Turkey. Özge’s work, often combining documentary and art photography, caught the eye of the Magnum Foundation which awarded her a fellowship. She aims to explore underreported stories with a focus on gender and migration with an intimate approach. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, News Deeply, NRC Handelsblad, De Standaard, and VG, among others. Her master's thesis is about the ethics of long-term documentary photography. She is the recipient of the 2018 Marilyn Stafford Fotoreportage award. She is fluent in English, Turkish and French.
