Garth is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer passionate about storytelling that drives change. His work spans documentaries, adventure films, and social issues, with a focus on conservation and human resilience.
He has directed and shot multiple films in an ongoing short documentary series for WildAid and Wild Africa, highlighting critical conservation efforts across Africa, with some of the films screening at international festivals, garnering several awards.
His 2017 film Mulanje, a climbing documentary shot in Malawi, featured at adventure film festivals worldwide. As Director of Photography on Chasing Mandela’s Rainbow, he explored South Africa’s education system. He also co-directed Living on the Edge, covering human-wildlife conflict, and shot Disease With No Name for Belgian TV.
In 2015, his film Cape Town Carnival: Elemental won two Golden Horn SAFTAs. He has filmed across Africa, from meerkats in the Kalahari to Al Jazeera’s Innovate Africa and My Nigeria series.
