Michelle Donde is a filmmaker from Kenya whose passion has always stemmed from her desire to tell stories. She currently specializes in scripting, producing and cinematography, with a focus on narrative films, both fiction and non-fiction. These films tell meaningful stories about different communities that leave a lasting impact on the audience that consumes them. Her film, House of Secrets, won three awards at the Kalasha International Film & TV awards in 2021; Best Director, Best Sound Design and Best Feature by a Student. She also got nominated for Best Cinematographer at the Women in Film Awards Kenya 2023. She has played the roles of Director of Photography for several documentaries and short fiction films over the past few years. She founded Undefined Pictures in 2022, a platform that aims to provide independent African filmmakers with a stage for their productions - a key to breaking free from traditional industry gatekeepers and regaining autonomy as creatives.

Bird Ringers of Kenya
Catching birds in a net, capturing them by their necks and fastening a band around their legs may not sound so pleasant. But when conducted by the gentle and professional hands of the members of the Nairobi Ringing Group, it’s difficult not to stare in awe. This close-knit group has perfected the skill of bird ringing. A necessary practice that helps monitor migration of birds, health of an eco-system and manage bird populations, amongst other environmental factors.

House of Secrets
Once Lucy is employed at the Shayo residence, she is engulfed in the world of her employers; a couple that struggles to keep up appearances - Ben Shayo and Anna Nyambura. When Mr. Shayo vanishes, Lucy is taken in for questioning by detectives, John and Frank, who will stop at nothing to get answers. Fearing for her and her family’s safety, she reveals key details that led up to Mr. Shayo's probable demise; a confession that could possibly help the detectives piece together the shocking truth.
