Kayana in partnership with UK-Kenya Tech Hub introduced the annual D.E.A.R Awards to celebrate the outstanding achievements of female-owned MSMEs in Kenya. This was in part, to honor the Resilience and Adaptability that these businesses have shown under the incredible circumstances that we have been living in for the past 2 years. The awards also provide a platform for sustained conversations and knowledge sharing on empowering MSMEs to sustainable growth through acquiring digital skills, focusing on the needs and opportunities for female-owned enterprises in Kenya and beyond. The 27 nominees in 9 different categories were honored at the D.E.A.R Awards Ceremony held on 27th June 2022. The significance of this event happening on World MSME Day was not accidental. This year our focus has been on empowering entrepreneurs with technology and digital skills to relaunch their businesses during the pandemic.
