About

Hande Gür completed her undergraduate studies at Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2012 and continued her postgraduate studies at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Public Law. She wrote her master's thesis on "The 'Unwilling or Unable' Doctrine of Self-Defence against Non-State Actors" and her doctoral thesis on "Protection of Civilians in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations". She was a Research Fellow at the University of Cologne (Germany), which she visited during her doctoral studies. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Özyeğin University Faculty of Law, Department of International Law. Her research focuses on international humanitarian law and the use of force in international law.
