Many women in Africa suffer from complications during their pregnancy. Fistula, caused as a result of prolonged labour, can have devastating effects on the lives of women. Through surgery these women can be healed and their lives restored.
ITNOYD follows the courageous story of girls as young as 8, who flee their homes, risk their lives, to find haven from the cutting season in Mugumu. FGM is still practiced widely in many tribes in Tanzania. The psychological and physical scars of their journeys etched in memories.
