The discussions, interviews and talks with men, from all levels of society, explore their perspectives on male societal roles. How they relate to norms around masculinity and how these men see their roles and responsibilities as providers, partners, fathers, and leaders.
Fifteen-year-old Shamiso Nyamutamba has endured more than her share of tragedy. When she was three, her mother died. Two years later, her father also passed away. She went to live with an abusive uncle, and was nearly forced to marry an older man. She has only recently found peace – and the promise of a better future – with the help of a unique UNFPA programme the Sista2Sista Club.
"The Basket Case II" exhibition is a European Union-funded initiative that is facilitated by the European Union National Institutes for Culture cluster members encompassing the British Council, Alliance Francaise and the Goethe Institute. "The Basket Case II" brings together artists, designers from the EUNIC cluster and grassroots organisations from around Zimbabwe.
