Sarah Ginsburg grew up in the magical Midwest town of Columbia, Missouri. She went on to study Film Production at Emerson College in Boston, which is where she lives and works as a filmmaker today. She edited for the award-winning interactive Hollow and shot and edited for Boston-based interactive Wander, Wonder, Wilderness. Sarah recently finished shooting and editing a feature documentary titled Best and Most Beautiful Things. She wandered into the audio world and started a podcast with Elaine Sheldon that features women working in media. The podcast is called She Does and is now part of Panoply, Slate's podcasting network. Sarah is fascinated by the overlooked and challenges herself to illuminate even the tiniest ingredients that make up our everyday.

Mahala is a director and producer with Courageous Studios, the brand studio for CNN. Previously she was a video journalist working at the Denver Post from 2010-2015. In that time she had the opportunity to grow with the newspaper’s developing video department, from working on daily video and breaking news to producing both short and feature length documentaries exploring themes and issues integral to the Denver and Colorado community. Her work has been recognized by Picture of the Year International, the Heartland Chapter Emmy Awards, and the National Edward R. Murrow Awards. In 2013, she was a member of the Denver Post staff awarded a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news coverage of the Aurora Theater shooting.

I'm a photojournalist and Documentary photographer from Venezuela, based in New York City. Graduated from Audio Visual arts at the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, and from the Documentary and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography. I've been a freelance videographer/editor and multimedia journalist for six years. My videos have appeared in The New York Times/Local and The Guardian and my audio pieces have aired on WBAI in New York and WBEZ in Chicago. The first short documentary I produced, directed and edited, The Invisibles, was at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. Ultimately I want to give viewers a look into worlds they're not familiar with while giving a voice to people who have not traditionally had access to media outlets. I shoot (primarily with a Canon 7D and edit on Final Cut Pro X. I'm particularly drawn to stories about social and human rights issues (e.g., disparities in healthcare, immigration, workers rights,) or profiles of people with unusual passions or unconventional occupations.

Mauricio Gonzalez-Aranda is a documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. In 2022, he created the Bar Talk Series, an online series with over 75k followers (@bartalkseries) that features everyday conversations between New Yorkers at different bars. His directorial debut, A Word for Human (2019), premiered at CPH:DOX and screened at the U.S. National Gallery of Arts. He has also worked as a researcher, assistant editor, and production assistant on various produc- tions by the Danish company, Final Cut for Real. These projects include Oscar-nominated documentary Flee (2021), President (2021), School Shooters (2021), and Songs of Repression (2020). He’s a well-versed director, DP, and editor. As a kid in Tucson, Ben started making skate videos and 'crime dramas' with firecrackers as the gun shot sound effects. He played music and then studied film at Oberlin College before moving to Chicago where he further developed his skills in short-form documentary filmmaking by balancing his commercial projects for Leo Burnett with lower budget work for local artists, Vice, Pitchfork music festival, Stüssy, and vitaminwater. Kimberly Avalos is a video and photojournalist with reporting experience in Kenya, Israel, Morocco, and the United States. She is currently based in New York City. Ismail Ferdous is a documentary photographer from Bangladesh, presently lives in New York, who covers social and humanitarian issues. He began his photo and video advocacy project, “The Cost of Fashion”, after documenting the Rana Plaza factory collapse, the worst industrial disaster in history. He continued working on same issue with “After Rana Plaza” project, continuing to spread awareness about the fashion industry and its negative effects on workers in Bangladesh. Deborah Wong is a video journalist in New York City. She is currently a freelance video editor for the News Literacy Project, a nonpartisan national education nonprofit that aims to teach middle school and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age. Steph and Ellen (SE Productions) co-directed and produced AFTER SPRING, a feature documentary about the Syrian refugee crisis. The award winning film was Executive Produced by Jon Stewart and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. It has since screened at over 50 film festivals in 15 countries. AFTER SPRING premiered on STARZ in February 2017. Ellen and Steph are recipients of the Frontline Award for excellent in documentary journalism and are MacArthur foundation grantees. They are experienced in international production and received exclusive access to film AFTER SPRING in the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, 7 miles from the Syrian border.
