I’m a multimedia journalist born in Cuba, currently based in New York City. I moved to the U.S. in 2016 to pursue a Master's degree in Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, as part of the inaugural class of the Spanish-Language Concentration. I’ve previously worked as a reporter in Havana, Cuba, and covered several events that shape the new relations between Cuba and the United States. I reported on President Obama’s visit, the reopening of the American embassy in Havana and the Rolling Stones' concert, among other events. While at CUNY, my work is especially focused on minority groups, immigrants, and the role of religion among this diverse Latino communities in New York City. I discovered the story of a Lutheran priest who has adopted 27 minors in an attempt to save them from deportation. I have also travelled to Israel and the West Bank on a reporting trip during June of 2017. In the summer of 2017, I settled in California to intern with Emblematic Group, a Virtual, augmented and mixed Realities production company based in Los Angeles.

Aristide Economopoulos is freelance photographer in the New York City metropolitan area. His experience includes over two decades with NJ Advance Media / The Star-Ledger where he specialized in documentary essays and covered a variety of topics from international conflict, urban violence, natural disasters, politics to local community news and professional and prep sports. An eight-time Photographer of The Year with the New York Press Photographers Association, he has won numerous awards including World Press Photo, Sony World Photo Awards, Siena International Photo Awards, Pictures of the Year International, National Press Photographers Association’s Best of Photojournalism, NPPA Cliff Edom New America Portfolio, Casey Medals for Meritorious Journalism, The Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Award. Ashleigh Joplin is an award-winning videographer formerly for The Washington Post. She is currently freelancing in the DMV area. As of October 2021, Ashleigh worked on a team specializing in live political coverage and breaking news events, Joplin has spent years carving out ways to cover style and entertainment. She has been recognized for her visual storytelling by the Society for Features Journalism, the White House News Photographers Association, the Edward R. Murrow Awards and the National Association of Black Journalists. Her feature on model and restaurateur Barbara Smith and how her family coped with her Alzheimer’s disease sparked a national conversation about the role and expectations of caregivers. I’m a photographer, cinematographer, filmmaker and visual storyteller with a focus on human rights issues and social justice. I have over 27 years of experience in photography, filmmaking and storytelling with a Master of Arts in Media Studies and a Certificate in Documentary Studies from The New School. I also hold a Certificate in Filmmaking and Directing from NYU, and a BFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. I have lectured and taught in several universities in New York City and abroad and have won multiple awards in both the United States and internationally for my films and photo exhibitions. My short film “Dance Horse” won the best experimental film at the Americas Film Festival in New York City. I have collaborated as a cinematographer on multiple award-winning projects such as “Cuba in Africa” a short documentary about the untold story of Cuba helping to end colonial rule and apartheid in South Africa, “Pink Boy”, a webby award-winning short documentary film on the life of a gender creative boy, “Nefertiti’s Daughters” which premiered worldwide at the prestigious Aspenshorts Film Festival, and “Miss Tibet: Beauty in Exile”, which made its world premiere at the DOC NYC film festival. I’m currently a Part-Time Associate Professor of Filmmaking at The New School, a Visual Storytelling Instructor for the Oral History MA program at Columbia University and a Part-time adjunct faculty at FIT in the Photography & Film departments. I like weird people and weird people like me. I am a multi-platform reporter with a passion for visuals. I came into journalism through photography, where I am well versed in breaking news, long-term features, portraiture and pretty much everything in between. Starting in 2013 I began translating that experience into videos; both documentary style longer pieces and short, punchy, social media-friendly vignettes. Oh, and I write. Pete Kiehart is a visual journalist based in Washington, DC. His interests include a diverse array of topics - he’s covered the war in Donbas and Europe’s refugee crisis, as well as the Tour de France and the African Nations Championship. Previously, he worked for The San Francisco Chronicle, where he was a visuals editor and photographer. In addition to working regularly as a photojournalist and portrait photographer, Pete also has experience with videography and video production, as well as writing and designing. Before becoming a freelancer, he worked at Reportage by Getty Images, CNN and The Columbus Dispatch. 
Pete maintains a close relationship with The Eddie Adams Workshop since attending the Sixteenth Workshop as the High School Photographer of the Year.
