I am a producer & fixer based in Istanbul, Turkey with over 20 years experience in making TV programs, documentaries, branded content and promo videos. I started my career at CNN Turk which is the Turkish spoken branch of international TV network CNN. From economy to culture and art programs, from documentaries to live broadcasts, I gained experience in producing many different genres of television programs at CNN Turk. Later, I worked for other Turkish news channels like Haberturk and TV 360. Here, I also got the chance to be in front of the camera as a correspondent and host at some programs which I enjoyed a lot. At some point of my career, I decided to quit full time jobs at TV channels and started working freelance for production companies. I worked with famous Turkish director Tolga Örnek and I prepared behind the scene documentaries and promo videos of some of his docu-dramas and feature films. Then over the years, I worked for many other production companies where I produced documentaries some of which were shot abroad. My first job as a fixer dates back to 2014 when National Geographic photographer Raul Touzon contacted me to arrange his photography workshop in Istanbul. This job made me realize how much I enjoy working with people from various countries. So since then I mostly prefer working as a producer / fixer for international crews. I’ve worked with many different crews such as journalists, documentary producers and photographers and looking forward to working with more. Economic Correspondent I made more than 500 interviews and live broadcasts on A Para and A News channels in Turkuvaz Medya, Turkey's largest media group. I met with many respected names from the business and government in their respective sectors. I made live broadcasts in English with foreign company owners, diplomats and statesmen. In particular, I made special news in sectors of energy, telecommunacitons, banking, technology gaming, defens industry and diplomacy. During this period, I gained expertise in creativity and organization. Editor and Producer of the "İzlence" Show on TV I was the editor and producer of the culture and art program, İzlence; which broadcast on the weekend. I interviewed many theater artists and musicians in the TV show where I promoted films, latests news in cinema, art exhibitions, best selling and newly released books. I produced over 4 hours content per week on this show. Presenter and Producer of the Gaming TV Show For the first time in Turkish televisions channels, I hosted and produced the 15 episode "Oyuncu" program about games and esports. I prepared the concept and content theme myself. The project I submitted to channel management was accepted and started broadcasting. The TV show "Gamer" appeals to GEN Z and everyone with interest in gaming. On this TV show, I interviewed many gamers, game producers and esports players in the gaming world. I have worked as an international journalist, covered diplomacy and international news for various national and international media outlets both in Turkey and abroad including Associated Press, BBC, Mc Clatchy News, Daily Hurriyet, Hurriyet Daily News, Daily Milliyet, TRT Turk, and Daily Cumhuriyet for 23 years. I have been working as a freelance journalist (producer, commentator and reporter) since November 2019 for various media outlets such as Al Jazeera, CNN International, TV2 Denmark, Associated Press, etc. I studied BA in Radio-Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University in Istanbul. I started journalism as a reporter at Turkish Daily Cumhuriyet which is regarded as the “school of journalism” in Turkey. Because of my work in journalism, I won the coveted “UN Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship” which was given by the UN Correspondents Association to only 3 journalists around the world in order to cover UN General Assembly for 4 months in New York in 2002. In 2004, I won a Chevening Scholarship from the British Council and went to UK to study my Masters. I studied my MA degree in “International Journalism” at the City University of London between 2004 and 2006. I worked for Associated Press Television News and BBC as a producer while I was in London. After coming back to Turkey in 2006, I started working for Turkish Daily “Milliyet” as a foreign news editor and diplomatic correspondent. While I was working at Milliyet, due to my work in journalism, I again won a coveted fellowship program for professional journalists called “Knight Wallace Fellowship” at the University of Michigan in US. I joined seminars on different fields of journalism and took classes on Middle East history and world politics at the University of Michigan for five months in 2008. I worked for TRT (Turkish Radio Television Channel) Turk as the Middle East editor for one year between 2010 and 2011. I worked as an editor and senior diplomatic correspondent for the most major newspaper in Turkey, Daily Hürriyet and its English language newspaper - Hürriyet Daily News for 9 years between 2011 and November 2019. Due to my work in the field; I have traveled many countries both in Europe and in the Middle east region including Germany, France, UK, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and many other countries for covering various foreign policy issues ranging from EU issues to civil war in Syria. I have been to conflict zone such as northern Syria during the war and northern Iraq after the so-called Islamic State’s (IS) occupation of Mosul and surrounding villages. Mr. Djallel Khechib is an Algerian researcher and author living in Istanbul, he is now a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Algiers3, Department of Asian Studies and International Relations. He got his Magister degree from the same department in 2017, and he was the valedictorian student during the Bachelor and Magister years. In 2014, Mr. Khechib got a scholarship of excellence for a short internship at Sakarya University, then he got another scholarship of excellence from Turkey in 2014 to do a second Master/Research at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies and Islamic world, Marmara University-Istanbul. Moreover, he is an active author too, he has 5 books, about 25 studies and research papers, 25 translation papers and more than 40 articles published in different academic journals and centers of research in Algeria, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Beirut, and the USA. In December 2018, Mr. Khechib'research got the International Mahathir Mohamed Prize for Intellectual creativity organized by Kuala Lumpur Forum for Thought and Civilization-Malaysia. Besides his academic writings, he participated in numerous International conferences, symposiums, training and youth events in different countries such as Turkey, Russia, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Lebanon. He has worked as the main researcher at IDRAK (Perception) Center for Studies and Consultations, Istanbul, between 2017-2018. Now he is cooperating with different TV channels, research centers and teaching Geopolitics at International Relations Academy (IRA) in Istanbul. I'm a British freelance photojournalist, based in Istanbul, Turkey. My personal work often focuses on themes of identity, migration, social and political actions, and the ramifications of those for individuals. I regularly cover stories about how identity shapes lives in challenging and unexpected ways, particularly within sexual and ethnic minority groups. Regularly working covering feature stories, and portrait assignments in Turkey, the Balkans, and the Middle East, for a range of international newspapers, magazines, and online news media. My long-term project Kütmaan (started in 2010) tells the stories of LGBTI asylum seekers, refugees, and IDPs in and from the Middle East, forced to flee their countries and lives for reasons connected with their sexuality and/or gender identity. This work led to my latest ongoing body of personal work called Gayropa - a visual documentation on queer migration to Europe. Based in Istanbul, Turkey since early 2012, but traveling often. Began my career freelancing across South/Central Asia 2005-2010.
