After directing a few plays as community work, Nqaba began developing concepts for film and television. These activities led to building relationships with a number of film companies in Johannesburg; including the development many TV shows. His most previous work includes directing a 4-part documentary series called Making Cents. He has also worked on a reality show called Rolling With Headliners, a reality show that looks at a 'day in the life' of some of South African celebrities. Nqaba is currently working on the second season of a reality show that looks at the lives of footballers wives, called Diski Divas. He also had a stint in a youth music show (Club 808) as well as a a wedding show (Our Perfect Wedding) and an emotionally compelling reality show about absent fathers (Utatakho). Niren Tolsi is a multi-award-winning journalist based in South Africa. His areas of interest include Constitutional law, social justice, citizen mobilisation and the state's (often violent) responses to these. For the past five years Tolsi and photographer Paul Botes have been documenting the aftermath of the Marikana massacre, when South African police killed 34 striking Lonmin mine-workers in the North West province. They have been following the material and psychological effects of the massacre and the various narratives around the killing with all 44 families who lost loved ones during the strike. Tolsi is editor of the long-form and literary magazine, The Con. he is currently South African arts journalist of the year and the current Ruth First Fellow and Heinrich Boll Fellow.
