Shiyu is a female independent filmmaker who originally from Yunnan, China. She is in her second year of MFA at American University right now. She graduated from Assumption University of Thailand in 2012, majored in finance and marketing. During the school time, Shiyu works as graduate assistant for professors on campus, she also works part-time at Academic Multimedia Service department in American University. Since summer of 2014, Shiyu started work as an intern at Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Culture Heritage. She mainly in charge of producing and editing pieces about Chinese traditional culture. I'm a documentary filmmaker of over 15 years, that seeks to lend my skills to those that are making change, but who's voices may not be heard. I am a filmmaker, producer, designer, musician, and art educator from Argentina based in New York City. After my graduation from the Faculty of Architecture in 2000, I moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Film Production from the University of Barcelona. In 2004, I co-founded Colectivo Piloto with the aim of promoting culture and education through the use of audiovisual resources and media technologies. Since then, I have been honored to work with several NGOs, institutions and governmental agencies, including Save the Children, Red Cross, Oxfam Intermón, and the Barcelona City Council. Born in Italy, Luigi received a scholarship to study filmmaking in the U.S. in 2008. Since then he worked on countless of projects worldwide, from features to commercials, fashion film, music videos, corporate and animations. Luigi is an AIC and IMAGO member, a Local 600 Camera Operator, an Industry Experience Roster member, and an ASC Mentee. Thierry Humeau is a director of photography and licensed pilot, drone owner & operator. In the late 80s, he started as a photojournalist with Sigma Photo Agency in Paris. A few years later, Thierry moved to the US, migrated to TV & Film production and launched Télécam Films located in Washington DC. He has traveled around the globe for often, difficult and challenging assignments covering current affairs, humanitarian, education and development issues. Nyier Abdou is an American video journalist, filmmaker and multimedia producer. A longtime newspaper reporter, she worked as a print reporter based in Cairo for more than six years. In 2005, she moved back to the U.S. to join The Star-Ledger newspaper, where she worked for nine years and moved from print to video journalism, going on to produce award-winning documentaries and news features with the paper. Bohdana Smyrnova started making films at the age of 17 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her short film Les demarches des papiers had already received international recognition when she moved to New York in 2005 to join NYU's graduate film program with the Dean's Fellowship. Till date, Bohdana's shorts have been screened at more than 200 events around the world including French theatrical release and prestigious festivals such as Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, Taipei Golden Horse, and Slamdance, garnering over 20 awards. A film maker with a distinct voice, Bohdana explores through her stories complex human relationships, desires conflicting with reality, and situations that pose no right choice. Tom Bentey is a Jersey boy made good. Tom grew up in Edison, New Jersey and spent his summers at the Jersey Shore. He studied English at Rutgers, and acted in several student films and plays. Tom’s new found passion for acting changed his path in life, as he went on to act in many Off-Broadway plays and independent films.
