I have also worked as a story producer and editor for Riot Games, where I researched and scripted videos for their platforms. In 2020, I won an Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series as the editor for AMC’s “Legal Ethics With Kim Wexler," a companion web series for AMC's "Better Call Saul." As a TV editor I have worked on shows for Nickelodeon, HBO, and PBS. I recently edited behind-the-scenes documentaries for Disney, Netflix, and AMC as well as video retrospectives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. I got my start as a documentary film editor working alongside renowned documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles of the Maysles Brothers ("Grey Gardens," "Gimme Shelter," "The Gates") and have since worked as an editor on several short and feature-length films. I am the editor of "Soledad," a feature-length documentary following three inmates after their release from one of California's most violent and overcrowded prisons, and recently co-edited "Voices Beyond The Wall," following a group of orphaned teenage girls living in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, murder capital of the world, as they learn to write poetry about their lives. I was the editor on Roku TV's Lesbian Bar Project, a docuseries following three lesbian bars across the country hosted by Lea Delaria. My work for the New York Times was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy. My work on the docuseries Lesbian Bar Project was nominated for a GLAAD award. My work editing promos for the TV show Better Call Saul won an Emmy Award. In addition to making films, I record and conducts oral history interviews across the country for StoryCorps, a National Public Radio and Peabody Award-winning project dedicated to preserving the stories of everyday Americans at the Library of Congress. Mary Catherine began her production career by traveling to Hungary to document the plight of the Roma, and produced, filmed and edited "Through Roma Eyes," for Storyful. She went on to work on documentary programs for CNN, PBS, CBS, HBO, Lifetime, and IFC, and many others. She produced a live-animation economics series, "Punk Economics with David McWilliams," and an immersive travel series "Kenny Wild" for Sky 191. Mary Catherine and Cornelia released their first independent film "A Mighty Man: The Father Gerry Roche Story" about an Irish missionary who was murdered in Kenya, in 2012. Most recently, Mary Catherine was an Editor on "The C-Word," a film Directed by Meghan O'Hara (Fahrenheit 9/11) and Executive Produced by Morgan Freeman. I'm a cinematographer, editor and motion graphics designer, born and raised in Brazil and based in New York. I grew up in Italy where I studied music and photography. As an independent filmmaker, I have developed, co-directed and produced a number of projects for Al Jazeera English, NBC Nightly News, NBC News, The Guardian, and others. As a producer most recently at NBC Nightly News, I regularly produced original reporting, appearing on both TV and online and distributed across all NBC News' social platforms. Some of my work included a profile of a Palestinian sprinter on a mission to compete at the Rio Olympic Games; documentary features on Hurricane Katrina survivors and their fight to repair their battered homes a decade later amidst rampant contractor fraud and a profile of a group of New York's cop watchers. Additionally, I spearheaded NBC News' series coverage of the standoff at the Oceti Sakowin Camp in Cannon Ball, North Dakota, over the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline - contributing dozens of written articles, video features, exclusive scoops and live on-the-ground dispatches. Previously, I worked as a featured contributor for The Guardian US where I covered City Hall in New York City. My most consequential piece there was a months-long investigation into abuses within the city's foster care system. In the piece, I exclusively revealed for The Guardian a watchdog report administered by the New York City Public Advocate's Office that the city's Administration for Children's Services (ACS) had for years abused its power in family courts, wrongly taken children into custody and inadequately assisted those it claimed to help. The article, in addition to a subsequent class-action lawsuit on behalf of the victims, led to Gov. Andrew Cuomo announcing four major reforms to ACS in November 2015. Prior to The Guardian, I worked as a general assignment reporter at Quartz, the Atlantic Media’s global business news site, where I covered everything from the rise of the pro-marijuana legalization movement in the US to a series of features on the covert U.S. drone program and the companies and individuals most closely associated with it. My first job in journalism was as an Associate Producer for a special investigative documentary project, “Marijuana Wars” on the social, legal and moral implications of the nation’s 40-year War on Drugs, both in the US and in Latin America, and the rise of the marijuana legalization movement in the United States for “People and Power,” a long form investigative current affairs program broadcast weekly on Al Jazeera English.

Director, Photographer, DP/CameraOperator Content creator My mother was gifted a brownie camera by her brother prior to my having been born. It was then she began documenting every waking moment of life, and I was soon to follow. One of my earliest memories is of a light so bright it seemed like the sun shining straight into my eyes causing a bright start into this world. I now know that was the ‘movie light’ for her 8mm film camera. In High school, I thought taking photos and movies of everything was normal, and was often made fun of for it, until my classmates saw the prints then all wanted copies for themselves. I was an aspiring musician, taking my lunchtime to practice on a piano I didn’t have at home, and stayed after school everyday to do the same. To avoid advanced Algebra (I hated school) I was offered to join the Television department for our township in South Jersey/suburban Philadelphia, since it was based out of our high school. I became a broadcast camera operator and newscaster for a semester, and have held a camera ever since. It started out of high school with shooting weddings and events for a local photographer and photo lab I worked with while going to school for music. Then was hired to shoot for the school. Afterwards,, I spent some years as a photo assistant and digital tech to some of the top image makers in the business, all while shooting on my own. Since then, I’ve incorporated more motion/video to my image making, going out as aCamera Operator/DP. I have shot all over the USA, and have expanded this via my travel blog www.BrownPassport.com to include the far reaches of SE Asia on land and in the sea. I’ve been based out of New York city, though have lived and worked in Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, Philadelphia, and spent a few months living and shooting in Hawai’i, and Indonesia.
