In 2015 he was selected to participate in the 10th International Student Film Camp "Interaction 2015" in Pozega, Serbia, where he directed the short film "Grad" which was selected on the Green Film Festival on Seoul. His latest short film “El Sol Bajo Los Pies”, about agricultural laborers from La Montaña region in the State of Guerrero, is part of the collective feature film “La Danza de las Fieras”, which has recently been awarded at various festivals around the world. His last documentary film is suported by The Redford Center. His documentary debut as director, “La Misma Sangre”, currently in post-production, was selected and awarded in various international development labs and workshops like: the Meeting "Nuevas Miradas" of EICTV (Cuba), the Workshop of Film Projects of Central America and Caribbean of the Ibermedia Program, the FLICC Latin American Audiovisual Market, the Andean residence of Documentary Screenplay, the MiradasDoc Market and is currently the recipient of the FOPROCINE / IMCINE Fund for Quality Film Production. He currently directs two documentary feature films and is a producer of the films “No Time to forget and “Mined Land”. MEXICAN BRITISH SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGIST TURNED VIDEO JOURNALIST / CORRESPONDENT, BASED IN MEXICO. My bi cultural upbringing between Mexico City and London inspired my curiosity for social and cultural issues from a young age. I read Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, specializing in Visual Anthropology. In 1997 I returned to Mexico where I was quickly hired by the BBC bureau to cover Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Initially I was a tv and radio producer and then I received training to work as the bureau's camerawoman and editor for the region. News was a great school but I wanted to work on longer formats to get a more in depth look at the important issues. I used my field experience to springboard into documentary and spent 10 years working as a local field producer for international broadcasters: BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel and ABC Australia. Twenty years into my career I became a correspondent. I have been working on medium format pieces focusing on social and environmental issues relevant to the Americas region. These have been commissioned by the Americas Now segment of CGTN America. My passion for social, cultural, environmental issues; my innate gift for connecting with locals from every walk of life; my ability to gain access; my in depth knowledge gained from decades of covering the region, have all come together to give me the tools to be able to tell the important stories the region has for an international audience.

Edgar Nito is a graduate student with honors from the Cinematographic Training Center, where he has directed, written and produced several short films since 2007. In 2010 his short film "Y volveré ..." was premiered at the Sitges International Festival of Spain. I am a Venezuelan filmmaker and editor based in Mexico City since 2018. I have a degree in Social Communication - Audiovisual Arts from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. My last short film “Don’t worry”, is nominated for best documentary short at the 65 Ariel awards, and had its world premiere at IDFA 2021, was an official selection at La Habana, Guadalajara and Malaga Film Festival; winning “best mexican documentary short film” at the 25th Guanajuato Film Festival. My fiction short film "Bolas Criollas", filmed in Venezuela in 2017, was selected in many international film festivals, including the 22nd Brussels Short Film Festival and the 22nd Cine Las Americas Film Festival. Recently the film was added to the catalog of Retina latina. Between 2018 and 2019 I made the documentary series "Never again in Venezuela", which premiered in its theatrical version at the One World Film Festival 2020, and was awarded with a Suncoast Emmy in the Documentary category - Topical. Between 2018 and 2021 I worked in the news portal Infobae, where I contributed by creating the audiovisual team and I was in charge of the production of branded content. During the last five years, I worked as a reporter and photographer for Televisa, the largest Latin American news outlet, mainly focused on all-digital projects. I'm now a freelance photographer, videographer, field producer, and reporter. I've worked all over Mexico and also abroad in countries like the USA, Honduras, and Chile. My main focus has been on the environment, immigration, and culture, but also on crime and foreign affairs (US and Latin America). I've lived and worked as a journalist in Mexico for three years.
