I am a freelance journalist, documentary filmmaker, videographer and editor. I have nearly a decade of experience as a freelance reporter and photographer, mostly covering social justice issues. I am the writer, director and editor of the documentary film The Ghosts of March 21, which screened at numerous film festivals including the San Francisco Black Film Festival and the Oakland International Film Festival. I have also worked on several short documentary and video projects and have been a video editor for Organic Intelligence (organicintelligence.org) for the past two years, where I edit together study materials for their online training program. I am interested in short documentary and news projects in the Mexico City area. I have my own run-and-gun video and audio gear. I hold a BS in Journalism/Political Science from Northern Arizona University and an MA in Social Documentation from UC Santa Cruz.

Soy Oscar Andrés Reyes, mexicano de 43 años, radico en la ciudad de Querétaro, desde el año 2000 me dedico a producir y dirigir para televisión, he trabajado por 5 años en la cadena Univisión produciendo y dirigiendo los programas Control y Caliente, posteriormente ingreso a Fox Sports en Español produciendo del 2006 al 2009 las 3 temporadas del reality "El Reto Final Nissan" ganando 2 premios por el mejor rality latino, ese mismo año inicio con Discovery Channel para producir en México el documental "La Ciencia del Gol" (2009 - 2010). Hello, I am an almost 30 year old video producer. My realtime experience started at 21 when I started to film people around me with little stories of their own, about what the dedicated their time. My favorite one is in my profile, please go ahead. To be honest in the past I struggled with having good equipment, I spend a lot of money in my studies. I've worked for several production houses, most of it in private sector and with no social impact whatsoever. Still, It has been rewarded in the sense of experience and skill training. Carlo Echegoyen Media journalist. (I am not a person, I am a bicycle.) Born in CDMX, he currently collaborates with Agence France-Presse and Ruptly news agencies as video STR in Mexico. His photographic and video work has been published in various national and international media such as Associated Press, Dagens Nyheter, NYT, Deutsche Welle, Revista Proceso, Animal Politico, among others. Focused on human rights and the environment, he has visited various states of the Mexican Republic with a main focus on migration, security and natural resources. In 2021 and 2022 his work as a camera and drone operator has been nominated and awarded at different festivals such as the INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS INDIE FILM FEST, MIC GÉNERO among others for his participation in various documentaries. The skills that best enhance his photographic gaze are the handling of Drones and camera stabilization systems in extreme conditions such as kayaks, canyons, follow-up flights to moving subjects, violent social protests or armed movements. He has collaborated with different production companies and film crews. Of self-management training, he has participated in several courses of audiovisual production and direct sound. During the last five years, I worked as a reporter and photographer for Televisa, the largest Latin American news outlet, mainly focused on all-digital projects. I'm now a freelance photographer, videographer, field producer, and reporter. I've worked all over Mexico and also abroad in countries like the USA, Honduras, and Chile. My main focus has been on the environment, immigration, and culture, but also on crime and foreign affairs (US and Latin America). I was a staff writer for Mexican blogs and later worked as a coeditor for Reforma, one of the largest and most prestigious newspapers in the country. I then became a reporter for Plumas Atomicas, a Televisa-funded all-digital project, where I also worked as a photographer and videographer. While working on that project, I covered stories in Mexico, the US, Central America, and Chile. Uno llega al periodismo por el camino que menos se lo espera y cuando reacciona, ya no puede dejar de contar las historias que se van volviendo imprescindibles de narrar. La realidad se impone y las formas de contarla se multiplican. De esta forma lo que en un principio era la intención de contar las historias que proponía mi imaginación terminó siendo lo que la vida me ponía enfrente. Y así me volví reportero. Primero para prensa escrita y casi al mismo tiempo para televisión. Entonces cámara en mano salí a recorrer mi estado: Veracruz. Sin embargo el enamoramiento duró poco: la realidad de la censura y el embute fueron llevándome al hastío hasta que junto con otro amigo decidimos fundar un proyecto de video comunitario: Teocelo Te Ve, junto con una de las radios comunitarias más perseverantes de México, Radio Teocelo. Los caminos me llevaron a una corresponsalía nacional y ahora desde el Distrito Federal y después de cubrir la fuente de derechos humanos, decido volverme freelancer.

For the last 20 years I have been working as a photojournalist, photo editor, video journalist, writer, publisher and multimedia editor for wire agencies, newspapers and television channels, with a wide range of topics within Nicaragua, the Central American region and the Caribbean. Studied cinematography in Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico. Has more than ten years of experience in filmmaking. His works have been in different international festivals like the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, Kustendorff and Raindance. In 2013 he is awarded with the Best Short Film Cinematography award in Ciudad Juarez Film festival for the film "The last veil". Hi, I'm Santiago Casillas and i'm a multitask guy! I've been working in video production around 4-5 years. I work with a production company called With a Smile Films that resides in Mexico City. My work experience follows several things: i'm capable of operating some cameras, not all of course but i'm very passionate and i learn very fast, i'm very efficient as a soundman, also a cautious drone operator but very precise. I'm very good at editing, i have experience with sound designing and i know how to do motion graphics with after effects. Meghan Dhaliwal (b. 1990) is a freelance photojournalist, editor, researcher, writer and multimedia producer based in Mexico City, MX--her español es muy malo, pero ella está aprendiendo. Her work has appeared in Foreign Policy, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Global Post and The Huffington Post. She is a two-time Pulitzer Center grantee. She has a special interest in covering public health issues that arise as a consequence of conflict or natural disaster. Prior to her freelance career, Meghan was the Multimedia Projects Coordinator at the Pulitzer Center in Washington, DC. During her 2.5 year run on staff, she designed e-books, curated exhibitions, spoke at schools and universities across the country, worked with youth programs, and worked as a grantee for two projects: one in Haiti and one in Afghanistan. I've lived and worked as a journalist in Mexico for three years. Three years of writing news and feature stories from every corner of the country, filing short and long stories about politics, immigration, trade, oil&gas, aztec culture, food and crime. My work has appeared in various outlets such as The Guardian, Le Monde, Time, FT, Slate, Monocle, Raconteur and The American Lawyer. These days I mostly write for French daily Le Figaro as their Mexico correspondent. Aside from writing, I've done some fixing and producing, helped on documentaries that have aired on French TV channels Canal+ and France2, or Vice in the UK. I developed my reporting skills while covering a South Bronx neighborhood in 2012, as a journalism student at Columbia University, which have certainly given me a taste for social-related stories and investigative journalism.

I studied Cinema and Television at CENTRO and literature at “Escuela Dinámica de Escritores”. I'm one of the founding members of “Colectivo Detona”, a group of filmmakers dedicated to making documentaries, the diffusion of film culture and educational projects. I was scriptwriter and assistant director at the full length documentaries “Vestiges of paradise) (2012) and “Transit” (2014), which where shown in national and international festivals. As a film programmer I did “¡BOOM!” in Centro Vlady in collaboration of the UACM university. I have published film critics at the magazine “La Tempestad”. My most important project to the moment is the fiction film called “Aimee”, which was completed in the beginning of 2015 and is currently looking for spaces of diffusion. Its a thriller about the dark side of the unconscious.

Miguel Ángel Sánchez holds a film degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he specialized in Direction and Production. He has been selected to Berlinale Talents 2022. He produced the feature film "The dove and the wolf" which premiered and was awarded at the Locarno Film Festival. As an activist, he was a member of the Autonumus Audiovisual Front, a group of film students working with audio-visual media who have had a significant impact on the student movement in Mexico. He directed the #DignaDigna transmedia project on Digna Ochoa's iconic case. He also directed the documentary series Turtle World on the six marine turtle species that arrive in Mexico and are critically endangered. He currently produces two documentary series for the ViX+ platform.
