I am a Mexico City based photographer/videographer with experience and special interest in news, documentaries, human interest stories and non fiction storytelling for traditional, Web or Social Media. I firmly believe that emotions and relevant content is the best way to get audience engagement. I started my career as a stringer photographer with the AP in Venezuela back in 1999, was the official photographer of late president Hugo Chávez, and has experience covering local, national and international news events; most recently I worked for an editorial group in Caracas, Venezuela, shooting video stories for their three newspapers websites, before moving to Mexico. I majored in Mass Communications and was a Photojournalism college professor, so I keep myself up to date in new forms of visual storytelling. Is dedicated to photography since 2005. Worked three years in Once TV Mexico producing and filming short documentaries on social, cultural and health issues. Graduated as Film-Maker in 2015 from Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV), Cuba. Before studying film he worked for several advertising campaigns (for film and tv) as an assistant in the departments of art and direction. He studied the career of communication sciences at UNAM. As a cinematographer he has filmed several short films (fictions and documentaries). He has worked also as a cameraman in México Next Top Model (Sony Entertainment). He has produced several commercials and institucional videos mostly for internet. Polsky (2015), a short fiction movie filmed by him in Cuba, has recently been selected for international competition in the 38th Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival. En el 2011 fundé junto con un amigo cineasta y una amiga antropóloga una productora autónoma "Tlazocamati Producciones". El primer documental que rodamos fue sobre la vida de una mujer partera y desde entonces buscamos rodar documentales con el mismo espíritu que impulsó la creación de nuestra productora. Born and raised in a small town in the Italian Alps, Alessandro studied at the University of Bologna’s Drama, Art and Music Studies (DAMS) program—the first Italian degree to focus entirely on visual arts and performance. In Bologna, he directed his first short film Dog from Hell, which was produced by Universal Studios and broadcast nationally. A year later, he attended U.C. Santa Barbara as an exchange student, where he wrote his final thesis on the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. In 2004, he moved to Dublin, Ireland and became a Final Cut Pro certified trainer. There he managed an Apple Training Center, while teaching film editing at other institutions, such as NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Filmbase. He also co-founded the production company Cacti Films, serving as creative director. It was during this time that Alessandro developed a relationship with documentary filmmaking as a means of questioning, challenging and bringing awareness to subjects of social relevance. In 2008, he directed Children of Manila and The Cemetery People, short documentaries that depict the hardships of life on the streets, and how shelter and education can help. Both films won numerous national and international film festival awards, and were featured at various events around the globe. Since 2011, he has resided in Mexico City, where he works as a director and editor.

Edgar Nito is a graduate student with honors from the Cinematographic Training Center, where he has directed, written and produced several short films since 2007. In 2010 his short film "Y volveré ..." was premiered at the Sitges International Festival of Spain. He has received an honorable mention at the Lebu Film Festival in Chile, has been awarded the best short film award at the International Film Festival of Guanajuato, the Best Cinefantasy Soundtrack Award in Brazil and the Best Narrative Short Film Award At the Garden State Film Festival in the United States. I'm interested in telling the way things get done, either it's food, a tool or an event. I like to be in the position of the people who is making it happen. The FPPoV (First Person Point of View) it's pretty much my most predominant shot in all my productions, almost a signature shot. I was born in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, south of México. I moved to México City, DF. At the age of 18. Studied in film school for 2 and a half years then I begun to shot my own documentaries, day to day life in México, a ride in the Metro, a Music festival in the heart of the city, jogging in the park, a party night drinking till' next morning, a walkthrough to the street art beacons in the city. Or a day in first grade class room in State of México. Right now working with "Coletivo Mariachi", which is a group of media professionals (Journalists, photographers, documentalists) A collective that is following the protests in Rio de Janeiro since the very beginning.

Soy un realizador audiovisual y tengo 29 años de edad. Estudié Artes Audiovisuales y desde que salí de la escuela en 2006 hasta el 2009 me dediqué a levantar proyectos personales. Apartir del 2009 comencé a trabajar en la TV comercial como Editor Senior. Esto me separó de mi pasión por el documental, sin embargo en 2011 entré a trabajar a Milenio TV, un canal de noticias en México, lo que me acercó al mundo del noticiero y un poco al documental Actualmente radico en la Ciudad de México y estoy produciendo un documental sobre una Subasta de Plantas que yo mismo recrearé para acelerar los procesos del mercado y de la economía actual. Quiero revisar e indagar en temas como el valor de las cosas y la comercialización de seres vivos. Me interesa observar el afecto y el posible apego que el ser humano ejerce sobre su entorno inmediato y como esto es el motor de sus actos. Estoy interesado en revisar la delgada línea que separa a la narrativa del documental y los formatos de la ficción.

I specialize on Direction, photography, editing and script-writing. I studied on "CENTRO DE DISEÑO, CINE Y TELEVISIÓN" in Mexico City and have a degree on Cinema and Television. I have a vision of creating high quality content, in image, sound and concept on everything i do: cinema, advertisement, journalism, music videos, fashion films, etc. I'm tired of watching low quality content meant for making the consumer stupid, i truly believe that everything we do should be treated as a piece of art, not just a meaningless job for getting money, art can be sold too and im sure that the consumers would really appreciate having their entertainment to be more like a gourmet dish and less like a junk food content for their brains, to feel smart instead of stupid. I speak not only as a creator, but as a consumer as well. In the working area i've had both type of experiences, the meaningless (where you have no creative decision, just follow orders for making a junk product) and the meaningful (where everyone works as a team, respecting and understanding the visions of each other in order to create a high quality result, something with heart and soul) i guess it is obvious which one i prefer. Soy licenciado en Cine y televisión graduado de la universidad "Centro de diseño cine y televisión" en Ciudad de México. mi visión es crear contenidos de alta calidad en todos los aspectos: imagen, sonido y concepto en cualquier área: cine, publicidad, periodismo, videoclip, fashion film, etc. Estoy cansado de ser bombardeado de contenido de baja calidad destinado a hacer al consumidor estúpido, creo que todo lo que se haga debería ser hecho como una pieza de arte, no como un trabajo sin sentido para ganar dinero, el arte también puede dejar dinero y estoy seguro que los consumidores estarán agradecidos de tener un entretenimiento gourmet en lugar de chatarra para el cerebro, de sentirse inteligentes en lugar de estúpidos. Es mi punto de vista, no solo como creador, si no como consumidor también. En la parte laboral he tenido ambas experiencias: la que carece de sentido (en donde no hay decisión creativa ni visión y solo se trata de seguir ordenes para producir un producto chatarra genérico) y también los proyectos llenos de sentido (donde todos trabajamos como un equipo, entendiendo y respetando las visiones de cada quién para producir un producto de calidad, hecho con corazón y alma) supongo que es obvio cual prefiero.

My name is Alan and I've work as a filmmaker for seven years. At first I worked as a videographer but as time past, I started directing some small projects, then I started to realized the true need of telling that stories and began to work in some projects that I though were worth filming. I like to tell stories about people, their contradictions, their way of thinking, their fears and their joys, and all that makes them a human being. The part that society doesn't ask for and that is the one that is keeping us moving foward. That part of humans in which we find the escence of what they really want and that is often contradictory of what really is. To tell stories I think is about being there, live and remember, then put it in a way that makes some sense for you and other people. Also as a videographer is hard for me to put the beauty of the image, the shot aside, so, every project has something of that in my work. I don't bealive that aesthetics and documentary are contradictory, just that there are diferent ways of telling a tesis or a story. I have a duty with the people I'm filming and the ones that watch my work, to choose carefully what I'm trying to prove and say. The work should be truthful. Nowadays, I'm studying for a Master Degree in Film Direction and Scriptwriter in Morelia, México. Also, I have a Diploma for Film Direction in the CUEC, the UNAM's film school. I am a Venezuelan filmmaker and editor based in Mexico City since 2018. I have a degree in Social Communication - Audiovisual Arts from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. My last short film “Don’t worry”, is nominated for best documentary short at the 65 Ariel awards, and had its world premiere at IDFA 2021, was an official selection at La Habana, Guadalajara and Malaga Film Festival; winning “best mexican documentary short film” at the 25th Guanajuato Film Festival. My fiction short film "Bolas Criollas", filmed in Venezuela in 2017, was selected in many international film festivals, including the 22nd Brussels Short Film Festival and the 22nd Cine Las Americas Film Festival. Recently the film was added to the catalog of Retina latina. Between 2018 and 2019 I made the documentary series "Never again in Venezuela", which premiered in its theatrical version at the One World Film Festival 2020, and was awarded with a Suncoast Emmy in the Documentary category - Topical.
