I'm a freelance self-shooting producer based in Kyoto, Japan. I have been very lucky involved with various projects including commercial, journalistic, and factual content both internationally and domestically. I usually work as a one-man band for much of my career and have experience as an editorial assistant at a Newspaper in Japan. As such gave me opportunities to explore various aspects of filmmaking, I am able to act any roles when it comes to production. I am fundamentally interested in and passionate about factual content. Born in Kyoto, Japan. The experience of living in the U.S.A. as a young child has always kept me from dreaming of another culture and world outside of Japan. Studied Spanish as a major at the University of Kansai Gaidai, lived in Barcelona and travelled to Mexico and Brazil. Lived in Sao Paulo Brazil since 2009, and also in Salvador. Starting my career as a photographer in Sao Paulo with the collective group company CIA DE FOTO. Since then growing my work with the field in photography and videography with advertising, commercial, short documentaries and art expression.

Born in America, Ian Thomas Ash earned an MA in Film and Television Production at the University of Bristol, UK, in 2005. His first feature documentary, ‘the ballad of vicki and jake’ (2006), received the Prix du Canton Vaud prize at the 2006 Visions du Reél International Documentary Film Festival in Nyon, Switzerland. Ian’s two feature documentaries about children living in areas of Fukushima contaminated by the 2011 nuclear meltdown, ‘In the Grey Zone‘ (2012) and ‘A2-B-C‘ (2013), have been screened at festivals around the world where they have also received multiple awards. The World Premier of ‘-1287‘ (2014), Ian’s latest documentary, took place in the 2014 Raindance Film Festival in London. Ian has lived in Japan for a total of 12 years and lives in Tokyo. He is currently in production for two feature documentaries, one about a little told niche in the Japanese sex industry and the other the third installment in his series about Fukushima.

Hikaru is a self-shooting Director/Editor based in London and Osaka working in broadcast, viral and independent documentaries as well as branded content, producing long and short format films for BBC, NHK, the Guardian, Tate gallery, and international brands such as Casio, Sony, Dove and Yamaha. Currently producing and directing a feature length documentary 'Lawyers' about the first openly gay couple who started their own law firm in Japan. The film is supported by BBC and NHK (Japanese public broadcaster) and have won the Best Pitch award at the 2014 Tokyo Docs forum. Also initiated and co-directed an award winning film 'Love Hotel' (2014, UK/France/Japan) about a love hotel in Osaka for BBC4 Storyville/France 2, which premiered at Hot Docs International Film Festival 2014, receiving warm reception from both critics and audience.

Representative Partner at Penny Black Co. I worked for a production agency making television and cable TV programs, mostly news and documentaries. Corporate videos and promotional videos for cities as well. Also, when I worked for a web channel company, they sent me all over the world to shoot at international conferences on the environment. I got very interested and now I try to make videos for clients who want to tell the stories of forests and mountains, rivers and oceans.
