Erin Patrick O'Connor is a multimedia journalist specializing in documentary production, whose work has focused on issues including government housing for indigenous communities in Chiapas, Mexico, undocumented students fighting for citizenship and the struggle of overcoming a traumatic brain injury. My name is Damon Colquhoun and I'm applying through POV. I'm a storyteller: filmmaker, writer, photographer, new media creative. I'm a working class kid who has a passion for exploring, then sharing the often overlooked stories of the black working-class (my own stories included). I'm also passionate about serving that same group. One thread of my work has been in the field of non-fiction and general videography. The other encompasses more fictional film work and creative writing. I grew up in Manila and flew to New York to go to journalism school, and I've had a camera in my hands ever since. I can shoot and edit daybook pieces in an afternoon or spend months on a single story, though I prefer the latter because there's much more room for a story to grow. I like hunting for stories that are raw and human, and different and fun. I followed a teenage single father in the Bronx who worked to make life better for his son, I shot a crazy balut (duck embryo) eating contest in the Lower East Side and the winner who ate 37 of them, and in December I'm flying to Tacloban City to document how Filipinos are rebuilding their lives after the typhoon.

I'm a story driven Filmmaker/Video Journalist that is dedicated to providing a voice to underrepresented and underreported communities in the media. I enjoy a producing a variety of content from cultural events to human interest stories. In the past, I've covered everything from Senate committee hearings on "Rape in the Military" to "Sign Spinners". I go between long form documentary production and video journalism and both mediums allow me to cover topics that are engaging, intelligent and thoughtful. I heard about storyhunter.tv through the POV American Promise assignment and found it a great opportunity to continue to produce video journalism pieces.

My abilities combine traditional reporting with technical skills such as video editing, making me a multimedia journalist. While I prefer a collaborative environment, I am able to work independently as well. I'm an up and coming documentary focused film-maker from Brooklyn NY. I'm a recent graduate from CUNY in New York. I enjoy showcasing indie music artists, sports, behind the scenes, as well as arts and culture. I work hard to capture great audio to enhance the natural sounds of the subject or environment. Born in Nassau, Bahamas, Sekiya Dorsett is a queer filmmaker giving voice to issues of equality. In 2008, her first film, Wisdom and Understanding, a short experimental film, made its debut at NewFest Film Festival and the Oakland Black LGBT Festival. In 2009, her short, Sisters, a story about a lesbian woman struggling to reconcile with her mother, was screened at the Austin LGBT Film Festival.Through online media, her project, The Rainbow Collective, merged race, gender, religion, and pop culture.
