For the last seven years Kuba Witek worked in Greenland, Spitsbergen, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Poland and the USA as a documentary filmmaker, author and speaker. I graduated in Economics at the University of Warsaw and Film and TV Production at Lazarski University. I've been associated with the media market since 2000. First, as a photographer and producer of photo sessions, I collaborated with such titles as Newsweek, Forbes and Harvard Business Review. In recent years, I have completed dozens of advertising, promotional and corporate productions, often appearing in a double or triple role as a producer, production manager and plan manager. Daria graduated at the Jagiellonian University, followed by studies in theatre and film directing at the Krzysztof Kieslowski Faculty of Radio and Television University in Silesia in Katowice. She completed film directing and screenwriting masterclasses at the Wajda School. Her film "The Confession" won first prize in the student category (Kodak Award) at the 2010 Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles. Her public awareness short, Morskie Opowiesci (The Sea Stories), received the award for artistic vision in the Kodak Advertising Film Competition for students in the same year. Omar Marques is a Portuguese freelance photojournalist from northwest Portugal based in Krakow, Poland. I’m a writer, photographer, and video journalist who has covered politics and society in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. My journalistic work has spanned a broad set of issues, including conflict reporting in Ukraine during the Russian invasion in 2022, coverage of the 2019-2020 protests in Beirut, reporting on the Syrian refugee crisis in the Levant, and coverage of the Poland-Belarus migrant crisis in 2021. As a freelance journalist reporting on Ukraine, Lebanon, Iraq, Poland, Turkey, and the US, I’ve always made human stories and experiences the focal point of my work. After working at several newsrooms across the US including Business Insider, I started freelancing in spring of 2018, and I’ve split most of my time since then between Beirut, New York City, and Warsaw. While based in Poland, I reported on the migrant crisis along the Belarus border in 2021, and took a reporting trip to Ukraine in 2022 to report on refugees fleeing the conflict, the impact of war on Ukrainian cities, and war crimes perpetrated by Russian forces in the Kyiv area.
