I’m passionate about what I do. What I do best is tell a good story; it’s who I am. I’ve been working with companies, in the PNW, producing stories ranging from brand storytelling about specialty coffees to profiles of young women seeking advice from their mentors. I bring three things to the job: Directing, shooting, editing, and producing content for broadcast and web Experience in corporate brand storytelling for companies like Microsoft, Concur and Expedia working with internal and external partners at various levels including C level executives. Proven success of storytelling for Starbucks and BECU working with creative teams at HQ and with partners in the field. This experience has taught me to be flexible on any type of assignment, interact with team members, and deliver quality work. My passion is visual storytelling. No matter how big or small it may be. Whether that means shooting content about coffee, or editing a sizzle reel for Microsoft. Creating compelling stories that impact a business is what I strive to achieve on every project.

I have a story for you. Well about you, really. It started when you were born and the world was shiny and new. In fact, everything you encountered had a mysterious wonder to it. Each leaf a miracle, every a blade of grass a world unto itself. As you grew older however, you began to notice less. Responsibilities and schedules vied for your attention and the walk to work was filled with people in your way instead of fascinating humans, each with a story of their own to tell. As your world became narrower, your heart became harder. Then one day, a seed of a thought wandered into your brain and it took hold. It whispered, "Open your tired old eyes, and see the world anew." My mission is to water that seed. As a filmmaker and a wilderness instructor with a passion for adventure, I aim to challenge others to see the beauty in life. I love telling stories, exploring deeper meaning, and helping others discover their potential through adventure and reflection. I am primarily a documentary filmmaker, having produced and directed Ty's List, a feature length documentary about the grieving process and living life to the fullest. I have also created short videos for non-profits such as Chicago Voyageurs and Northwestern Dance Marathon.

Prior to Grist, I was an intern at Vox.com, where I produced videos for their politics and social team. I'm a recent graduate of Medill, Northwestern University, with a master's in journalism. My focus was on documentary filmmaking and web videos. For over a decade, I’ve been lucky enough to work across many areas of the media industry. It has groomed me to excel in all aspects of visual storytelling seeing deadline-driven projects from development through final delivery of assets including pitching, writing, budgeting, field producing, directing, shooting, editing, project management, and publishing with digital asset management systems. It all started at CBS in 2009 paving the way for how the venerable news network broadcasted to a new audience online. At that time, CBSNews.com was ahead of the curve as my team developed the most optimal ways to package television content online from shows such as 60 Minutes, Sunday Morning, and 48 Hours. I was also fortunate enough to work on a live digital show with Katie Couric and produce a streaming simulcast to The Early Show. The hands-on experience and skills I gained over the years at CBS allowed me to join CNN as that network began to reinvent its digital presence. The reach of CNN ramped everything up for me as the projects I worked on received higher budgets and were seen by many more people. This also is where I started to develop more of my project management skills working in sponsored content. The series under this department operate under deadlines set by clients requiring a higher level of production quality and strict delivery schedule both online and on television. Along the way I have been awarded with numerous accolades including an Emmy nomination, Eppy awards and special recognition from the Webbys. The best part of my job is hitting publish and broadcasting a piece I poured my heart and mind into. I never want to stop creating and sharing my passion with the world.

Andrew Stanbridge has been traveling and photographing throughout Southeast Asia for the past 15 years. His first work documented the continuing modernization of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, which continues to be a theme that he returns to frequently. While traveling through these countries (particularly Cambodia and Laos) his interest was piqued by the histories of conflict that his own home country of America had been involved in and the recovery from the aftermath of these conflicts. For the past 5 years he has concentrated on this theme by addressing the physical, emotional and cultural scars left from the various wars fought in these countries. During this time he has spent time clearing and photographing unexploded ordnance, gone on patrol with ragtag armies and spent countless hours hearing the stories of those whose lives have been affected by the vestiges of war. These people include sex workers, rice farmers, politicians and others whose stories beg to be told, but who have b
