Fernanda Pessoa is a Brazilian filmmaker, working primarily on documentary, experimental cinema and videoinstallations. PhD candidate at University of São Paulo (ECA/USP), she holds a MFA in Film Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, under Philippe Dubois’ direction. In 2017, Pessoa released her first feature documentary "Stories our cinema did (not) tell”, screened and awarded in several international festivals, distributed by Brazilian Netflix. Her second long documentary “Arid Zone” received an Honorable Mention at Dok Leipzig and is available in international streamings. She was a Berlinale Talents in 2019. Her work has been screened in some of the main documentary festivals in the world, such as IDFA, RIDM, DOC NYC, DocLisboa, Brasilia Film Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Cinélatino Toulouse, and in institutions as BIENALSUR, REDCAT/CalArts, IMS (Institut Moreira Salles) São Paulo’s Museum of Sound and Image, Paço das artes, among others. She’s currently working on the documentary “Swing and Sway”, supported by the Visions Sud Est Fund and selected for the Sheffield Doc Arts Talent Market, for Arché at DocLisboa and the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum, and on a short film called “Order prevails”, commissioned by the Videoart Award at Fundação Joaquim Nabuco.

Raphael Bottino is born and raised in São Paulo (Brazil) and works in the film market since 2004, when he began as production assistant and assistant director. As a producer he made videoclips, commercial ads, corporate films and shorts. In 2008 he joined Sala12 Filmes, where he worked as executive producer for theatrical docs, such as Grey City (2013), and produced and directed Yoani’s Trip (2015). I am a freelancer photographer and documentarist based btw São Paulo and NYC. Born in1987 in São Paulo. Nowadays, I'm splitting my time between press assignments, long term artistic projects and creating visuals for brands. Currently finishing my first feature documentary as a director, a film entitled "Mud Trail" that tells the story of the social and ecological disaster in Mariana, Brazil, through the eyes of two boys in their early 20's. The film was part of the Documentary Summer Lab at Union Docs, in New York, 2017. In October, 2017, I was selected to be an artist in residency in Goa, India, as part of "The Story of Space Festival" with the project "Missing Women" explores the space of women in Brazilian and Indian societies. Avener Prado was born in Porto Velho, state of Rondônia, in northern Brazil, in 1991. He began his career as a photo-documentary artist in the Brazilian Amazon at the age of 18. He joined the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo as a photojournalist in 2012. Highlights for some of his work in Brazil: Urban violence in cities; The epidemic of the Zika virus in Pernambuco; The mining disasters in Minas Gerais; The destruction of the Amazon rainforest; The indigenous movement and its cultural diversity. He traveled across countries to tell stories like: Ebola in Sierra Leone; Immigration in the Mediterranean Sea from Italy; Walls that divide US-Mexico borders or neighborhoods, in the mountains of Lima in Peru. In 2019, already as a freelancer, he published reports in the newspapers Le Monde and The Guardian, and other works for Brazilian media. Tali grew up in São Paulo and moved to the UK in 2005 to study filmmaking. In 2009 she graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art Film course and followed on to do an MA in documentary directing. The shorts she directed as a student were screend at renowned international festivals such as Silverdocs, Visions du Reel and others. Her first comissioned project, ‘The Perfect Fit’, was a short documentary developed through the Scottish Documentary Institute's scheme, Bridging the Gap. The film won best SXGlobal short film award at SXSW in 2012 as well as being shortlisted for an Oscar nomination in 2013, for best documentary short subject. Back in Brazil, Tali directed the short film 'A Gilr's Day' for the international series 'Why Poverty?'. She is currently editing her first feature documentary project supported by IDFA Bertha Fund, financed by a well established Brazilian agency, SPCINE and coproduced by Glononews the international TV news channel of Grupo Globo. Alessio Ortu was born in Italy in 1980. Since 2001 he worked and lived in London, Los Angeles, New York, Rome and São Paulo where he is based since 2011. Between 2008 and 2015 he worked for the Italian production company Hirafilm, producing two movies, both by director Gianclaudio Cappai: the medium-length "I know there's a man", presented at the 2009 Venice Film Festival and over 40 festivals and special events worldwide, and the feature "Leaving No Trace", that premiered at the 2016 Bari International Film Festival. In 2012 he produced a documentary that portrays his own field work photographing crack addicts downtown São Paulo, that participated to several important film festival in South America. In 2015 he founded the independent production company Demiurgos Film, based in Los Angeles and São Paulo, through which he is developing two feature films and one documentary. He also works as a photographer, and as a camera operator for documentaries, tv series and advertising.

Documentary filmmaker, editor, researcher, screenwriter, sound recordist. Born in Natal in 1983 and raised in Bahia, I came to São Paulo in 2001 to study Audiovisual Production. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from the University of São Paulo and have worked as an assistant director, sound recordist and editor over the last few years. My experiences with the Cinemateca Brasileira’s movie collection and my taste for research have boosted one of my passions: archived images and projects that speak to memory and history. Since 2012, I have worked mainly as a director for documentary projects, both made for TV and corporate, as well as an editor for several other projects, including fiction. I directed four shorts, two of them aired in ESPN Brazil: "The Amazing Stories of a Ghost Ship" (doc, 26', 2015) and "Following the Line: the History of Ricardo Prado" (doc, 26', 2016). The films were screened in Brazil, Canada, Chile, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Sweden, in festivals such as It's All True, Hot Docs, FICVIÑA and FESTIn Lisboa. I also directed the third season of a television series entitled "O Papel da Vida" ("The Role of a Lifetime"), which was aired in 2014 in the television channel Canal Brasil. And "Families", a documentary TV series screened at the Brazilian Public Television Network, including TV Cultura and Futura. It won the Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano - 11 to 15 years, non-fiction. "I'm Still Alive" is his first documentary feature. Released at the 25th CinePE in November 2021, it won the Best Director Award, Best Editor Award, Distribution Award and Special Mention. I'm starting to produce a new television series for the Brazilian TV channel Arte1 and my second documentary feature.

Naor is an anthropologist and documentary filmmaker living in London and São Paulo. He writes, shoots and directs films focused on culture, social mobilization and human rights. His first short film about Prestes Maia, the largest occupation in Latin America, won the Face of Exclusion competition of the Inter-American Development Bank. Not to mention YouTube, which includes the 'Darth Blender' channel, with over 20 million accumulated views; and the project 'My Uncle Oscar', which is the most complete archive in Portuguese language about the Academy Awards. Felipe also works with courses, lectures, consultancies, participates in books, has deep knowledge of editing and project development.

I am a video-maker that loves searching for good stories, specially the ones dealing with political and social issues. In 2013 and 2014, I worked as a TeleSUR correspondent in São Paulo as a reporter but also shooting, videographying and video editing. During this period, I covered the June manifestations of 2013; the World Cup in Brazil in 2014; and the Brazilian presidential elections in 2014. I also participated in larger journalistic works for television, as for example, producing part of the Pachamama Program for TeleSUR. Before being a television reporter, I worked for 5 years as a freelance journalist for the Brazilian and international independent press. The stories in "The Surreal Genocid of the Guarani Kaiowas", written for magazine Revista Caros Amigos Especial was one of the finalist of the respected Brazilian Anatel and Anamatra awards. I am graduated in Jornalism (PUC-SP) and in Social Science (USP ).

Hello! I'm a journalist and an advertising man. I have been working for several years in the production of daily news programs on Brazil's second largest TV network. I am currently coordinator of journalistic production. And now I'm investing in my own project - roadmovie.com.br. I recently had the opportunity to cover popular demonstrations against the Michel Temer Government in Brazil for the Russian TV network (RT - Russia Today) as a reporter and video journalist. In 2015 I participated in the production of a web documentary for the Minorias channel, on Youtube, as an interviewer and videographer. In 2012 I produced and directed the documentary "Sí, yo puedo! - The Bolivian dream in São Paulo", which addresses Bolivian immigration between the harsh reality of his country and the dream of a better life in the largest Brazilian city. In addition, I produced some professional projects as special reporting series. I have a real passion for documentaries and unknown stories. Real people have a lot to teach. Their stories have to be told.
