I am a writer/ director born in Lesotho. After completing a degree in Film and Media Production I was involved as writer in a few productions, first assistant director, researcher and script supervisor in an international feature titled 'The Forgotten Kingdom'. For three years I was also a junior lecturer in the Film and Television department at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Maseru. I was also facilitator in a video journalism workshop at Kick-4-Life in Maseru for a period of about six months. I am currently in the research/ writing phase for a feature documentary: 'The Night 'Tsotsi' died'. My interests are in creative writing, journalsim, short film dramas and documentary films. I have completed a short documentary titled 'Reading Lesotho' for the African Library Project. I'm in post-production for a short documentary telling the story of a South Korean volunteer in a rural village in Lesotho. For over a decade, I’ve been lucky enough to work across many areas of the media industry. A media professional with more than 17 years of experience finding, crafting and editing stories -- including work in newspapers, radio, television and online news. As Executive Producer for Digital Media, I managed a team of five producers and four digital assistants creating content that recruits viewers to KIRO 7’s digital platforms, including our website, Facebook page, channels on Amazon Fire and Apple TV, and the KIRO 7 News apps. Andrew Stanbridge has been traveling and photographing throughout Southeast Asia for the past 15 years. His first work documented the continuing modernization of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, which continues to be a theme that he returns to frequently. While traveling through these countries (particularly Cambodia and Laos) his interest was piqued by the histories of conflict that his own home country of America had been involved in and the recovery from the aftermath of these conflicts. Ill be the first to admit my carbon footprint is way too big for someone worried about the fate of the global environment. Yet I believe there's no more important story, now or at any time in my life. That's why I'm a board member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, and why I'm writing a nonfiction book about climate change and social change I'm working on. Climate change and the environment stories can be both compelling and beautiful, and they're the ultimate people stories. I've covered the environment, business & politics long enough to snag three Emmys, an Edward R. Murrow award and a Columbia-duPont silver baton. While I've spent most of my career as a writer, reporter, and producer, I've starting doing my own shooting and editing. I'm still working to get steady handheld, but my eye is pretty good.
