I worked in advertising before becoming a visual artist, first as an account executive then as an art director. After moving to a tropical island (true story), I took a little detour and went to culinary school, working in professional kitchens along the way. Eventually, I hung up my apron and started shooting and writing about food. My passion for photography, motion and writing became culinary storytelling, and my tools for self-expression. As I continue to evolve and broaden my scope as a storyteller, I lean on each discipline—art direction, culinary arts, photography, writing—to help guide my work and my vision. Bold ideas thrill me as do colour and print, drama and whimsy. I'm equally passionate about the potential of a strong, stand-alone image as I am about the creative components in a captivating film. Aaron Vincent Elkaim (b.1981) is a Canadian documentary photographer and founding member of the Boreal Collective. Currently based in Toronto Canada, Aaron approaches his work with a focus on narratives where culture, history and environment collide. Since 2011 he has committed himself to exploring cultures still connected to the original world as they face the realities of the industrialized modern world. Highlighting important human and environmental rights issues, Aaron addresses the need to protect nature by revealing our profound connection it. Aaron's work has been recognized by a number of institutions including American Photography, the Magenta Foundation, Photolucidia, PDN, the Lucie Awards, and Visura, he won was a finalist in the 2015 Burn Emerging Photographer Award, and won the 2016 Alexia Grant as well as a gold in the 2013 Society of Publications Designers Awards for his commission for the New Yorker Magazine on the Iditarod, and the 2012 Daylight Photo Award.

Cindy Burgess is the founder of Pro Video Content, a boutique video production company based in Toronto, Canada. Pro Video's services include video production and editing, aerial/drone work, and corporate photography. Prior to starting her company in 2009, Cindy worked in TV news for 20 years -- both in front of and behind the camera. Her many skills include producing, shooting, editing, scripting, reporting, and hosting. Cindy is also an active traveler and loves to explore different cultures, activities, and ways of life. I'm a Somali-Canadian journalist based out of Toronto with an interest in refugee stories, human rights, Indigenous people, and international politics with a focus on East Africa and the Middle East. I've had experience as a producer and a reporter in both print and broadcast as well as current affairs and documentaries. I began my career with investigative stories, however I choose to be a journalist so that I can share the stories of underprivileged populations. I think that media often creates a dichotomy with "the West" and the rest of the world.
