At 13 i was the paperboy in port of Athens, Greece. At 18 i was reading Paul Virilio trying to understand mass media & communication theories for college degree. At 19 i was reporting live on news radio. At 20 i was told i should drop radio for live TV. For next 6 years my news reporting repertoire spanned anything from an elephant's birthday to Athens street gangs violence, to dead sea lions to Middle East conflict zones and Olympic Games. One day i was told i should drop reporting for hosting breaking news. After a year of reading the teleprompter under intense studio lights (it felt like chicken broiler) at age 26 i moved to New York. At 28 i finished my photojournalism studies at ICP in NY. At 29 i signed as the NY Bureau Chief for ERT / Hellenic Broadcasting Corp. At 35 i founded IFFI Productions and Old Garage Studio in Brooklyn. Been around the globe few times and seems that i can't escape NYC. Cheers.

I'm a filmmaker and journalist based in New York City. I've produced work for CBS, CNN, The Food Network, The New York Post, Great Big Story, The Guardian, OZY, Fusion, Univision, UPI, NPR, Poynter.com, the Wall Street Journal, The Global Post, Mashable, The Daily News and This American Life and others. Most recently, I started my own production company Fair Voyage Films and chased stories across Southeast Asia. Danny Ghitis (b. 1982) is an editorial and commercial photographer whose personal projects revolve around the relationship between memory and identity. The son of Jewish South American immigrants, he moved around a lot as a child, which helped him to develop a lifelong interest in documenting the lives of strangers and culturally ambiguous communities. With his work he attempts to pose questions, rather than answers, to challenge expectations and encourage introspection. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, and tends to spend all his money on traveling and chocolate. When he’s not taking pictures he enjoys rock climbing and playing Dungeons and Dragons with his nerdy friends. Joe Hill is a journalist, photographer, and media producer. He is currently an Associate Producer for Vice News Tonight on HBO. Joe began his professional career as the founder and Executive Director of The Unexpected Laboratory, a creative production company that confronted current affairs with multimedia storytelling. Now called Round Room Image, his company focuses on international nonfiction media production. He just returned from shooting a feature film in Venezuela and from working for the Witness Program of Al Jazeera Network in Doha, Qatar. He has filmed educational videos with the Deaf community in Ethiopia, photographed political rallies in Pakistan, and has advanced Spanish language skills from his time in Cuba and Chile. He is a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he created his own degree program called Image Production and Representational Studies. Carey is a photojournalist and cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY. After ten action-packed years as a staff photographer at the Sun Sentinel, Fresno Bee, Desert Sun and Auburn Journal, she went independent in 2011 to pursue work about women around the world. She has told stories about gender-based violence in Papua New Guinea, child marriage in Nepal, sex trafficking in Seattle, meth addiction and childbirth in California, street harassment in New York and domestic violence in Florida. Carey has lived and photographed extensively throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Over the last 18 years, I have worked in almost every field of film, TV and video production and television journalism, and have spent the last nine years managing my own news and media production company. I have an excellent knowledge of the industry, as well as a proven track record of running a company and managing staff, projects and budgets. I have lived and worked in many different countries, all over the world, producing anything from news and feature stories, to sport, to branded content and everything in between. My experience overseas has given me a truly unique perspective on global current affairs and has fostered a deep interest in exploring every story I come across from as many different perspectives as I can see. I also have experience of working in conflict zones, covering major riots in China in 2008 and 2009, and I was in Libya for one month, during the fall of Tripoli, working for APTN. I have also covered several natural disasters, including the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake and flooding in Southern China. As well as possessing exceptional writing skills, my work in TV and new media, has given me a unique skill set, enabling me to get a message out to the widest possible audience, in the most engaging way and often to a tight budget. Working as a video journalist/producer, I have acquired further skills as a story-teller. I am an excellent lighting cameraman and video editor, filming on a wide range of cameras and formats and able to script and edit to tight deadlines. I am also a skilled Steadicam operator, with my own rig, suitable for most requirements. Post-production-wise, I consider myself an expert in the use of Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects, as well as several other programs in the Creative Suite. I also regularly edit with Final Cut Pro, Avid and Davinci Resolve. I am equally at home in the pre-production office, in front or behind the camera, in the edit suite or in a live studio environment. Xinyan is an award-winning video journalist and filmmaker based in Washington DC. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, Xinyan started her journalism career in 2012 working as a producer for BBC News in Beijing covering the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she launched the North America video team for Hong Kong’s flagship newspaper South China Morning Post in New York, and later joined the BBC's Washington DC bureau in 2020 as a senior video journalist. Xinyan's 23-min BBC documentary China’s Science Revolution won the 2015 BBC Storytelling Fund and was Highly Commended for Excellent Online Production at the 2016 AIB Awards. Her 15-min short film for South China Morning Post, Fighting Fentanyl: the Drug from China Destroying American Lives, won the Gold Prize for Best Use of Online Video at the 2019 WAN-IFRA Asian Digital Media Awards. A BBC News video feature she shot, Are America's unvaccinated changing their minds?, won a White House News Photographers Association's Eyes of History Digital Storytelling award in 2022. Collin Brazie is a Director of Photography working in the narrative, documentary and commercial/branded fields. He studied at Dodge School of Media Arts at Chapman University in Southern California under Bill Dill, ASC. He has lensed a wide variety of projects, - most notably the features All I Need, the award winning drama Retake, and web shows for the CW and Hulu. Beyond the narrative field he has traveled the country shooting documentaries and branded commercials for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Although typically behind the camera, Collin has helped produce and direct projects with Closing Time Productions - including Retake which was acquired and distributed by Breaking Glass Pictures. After a theatrical debut in Los Angeles, the film has been released all over the world and is currently streaming on Amazon and Hulu. Amanda Florian is an American director, journalist, and entertainer based between the U.S. and Shanghai, China. She grew up in the entertainment industry, training in classical Italian at the age of eight--and in musical theater and pop shortly thereafter. As a young girl, she'd frequently travel to New York City to train in theater, dance, and voice. Florian, alongside her triplet sisters, has performed on NBC, at The Billy Graham Library, and at Seacrest Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina. For 10 years, she and her sisters volunteered to sing at the Festa Italiana, an annual festival in Charlotte that raises money for those with special needs. Her first documentary film was a 23-minute short on homelessness in Johnson City, Tennessee. Mostafa Bassim is a photojournalist and documentary photographer based in New York City. His career in photojournalism began during his participation in the January 25th revolution in Egypt, when he co-founded “Sotna” a local newspaper in his hometown and started documenting the atrocities committed by the regime. Mostafa has covered various events ranging from the aftermath of the Egyptian Revolution to economic and societal issues. His projects focus heavily on documenting the daily lives and occurrences of marginalized communities. His work was published locally in various local newspapers and internationally in various publications such as National Geographic, AP, Anadule, EPA, Aljazeera, and AJ+, and was exhibited in various international exhibitions including ICP museum, AFAC 10th Anniversary exhibition in Lebanon, Photo Istanbul exhibition and No pictures please exhibition in Berlin Germany. He is also a grant recipient of the 2015 Arab Documentary Photography Program under Magnum Foundation, AFAC, and the Prince Claus Foundation. He is also a participant in the 2017 and 2019 New York Times Portfolio Review, as well as the winning recipient of Nikon’s contest "MyNikonLIfe". In 2017 due to the ongoing crackdown on activists and journalists in Egypt, he moved to the US and began documenting stories regarding the Arab community in the American diaspora, and lately, he finished his visual journalism studies at the International Center of Photography in New York City.

I’m a multimedia journalist born in Cuba, currently based in New York City. I moved to the U.S. in 2016 to pursue a Master's degree in Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, as part of the inaugural class of the Spanish-Language Concentration. I’ve previously worked as a reporter in Havana, Cuba, and covered several events that shape the new relations between Cuba and the United States. I reported on President Obama’s visit, the reopening of the American embassy in Havana and the Rolling Stones' concert, among other events. While at CUNY, my work is especially focused on minority groups, immigrants, and the role of religion among this diverse Latino communities in New York City. I discovered the story of a Lutheran priest who has adopted 27 minors in an attempt to save them from deportation. I have also travelled to Israel and the West Bank on a reporting trip during June of 2017. In the summer of 2017, I settled in California to intern with Emblematic Group, a Virtual, augmented and mixed Realities production company based in Los Angeles.

Aristide Economopoulos is freelance photographer in the New York City metropolitan area. His experience includes over two decades with NJ Advance Media / The Star-Ledger where he specialized in documentary essays and covered a variety of topics from international conflict, urban violence, natural disasters, politics to local community news and professional and prep sports. An eight-time Photographer of The Year with the New York Press Photographers Association, he has won numerous awards including World Press Photo, Sony World Photo Awards, Siena International Photo Awards, Pictures of the Year International, National Press Photographers Association’s Best of Photojournalism, NPPA Cliff Edom New America Portfolio, Casey Medals for Meritorious Journalism, The Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Award. In 2005 he was part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting. A portfolio of his work from the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in Manhattan was awarded first place in Pictures of the Year International. Photo District News magazine named one of his photos from that day to be one of the 10 best documentary photos of the decade. I’m a photographer, cinematographer, filmmaker and visual storyteller with a focus on human rights issues and social justice. I have over 27 years of experience in photography, filmmaking and storytelling with a Master of Arts in Media Studies and a Certificate in Documentary Studies from The New School. I also hold a Certificate in Filmmaking and Directing from NYU, and a BFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. I have worked extensively in the areas of cinematography, documentary filmmaking, photojournalism and advertising. I have lectured and taught in several universities in New York City and abroad and have won multiple awards in both the United States and internationally for my films and photo exhibitions. My short film “Dance Horse” won the best experimental film at the Americas Film Festival in New York City. I have collaborated as a cinematographer on multiple award-winning projects such as “Cuba in Africa” a short documentary about the untold story of Cuba helping to end colonial rule and apartheid in South Africa, “Pink Boy”, a webby award-winning short documentary film on the life of a gender creative boy, “Nefertiti’s Daughters” which premiered worldwide at the prestigious Aspenshorts Film Festival, and “Miss Tibet: Beauty in Exile”, which made its world premiere at the DOC NYC film festival. I’m currently a Part-Time Associate Professor of Filmmaking at The New School, a Visual Storytelling Instructor for the Oral History MA program at Columbia University and a Part-time adjunct faculty at FIT in the Photography & Film departments. I also work as an independent contractor in filmmaking and photojournalism for clients such as the Associated Press Television Network at the United Nations, Kuwait TV and Elkhbariya TV. Currently, I’m specializing in cinematography and filmmaking with drones.
