I spent my childhood building robots and playing bike tag in the streets of Brooklyn, New York. I went on to study Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University where my senior thesis, “Camera Stabilization with a Stewart Platform”, won the Enoch J. Durbin Prize in engineering innovation. After graduating from college, I moved back home to Brooklyn to pursue my passion for filmmaking. I studied writing, directing, and cinematography at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and made several award winning short films, both as a director and a cinematographer. I now run a production company called Gates & Greene where I create and direct video campaigns for clients like Princeton University, Dom Perignon, and Bystander Revolution, an anti-bullying organization, where I also served as Creative Director for two years. I'm also the Creative Director of “BTYM”, the Youth Ministry at my church, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, famous for its six-time Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

Michelle Vey, born in rural Massachusetts, grew up on the east coast where, through ample outdoor exposure, she became passionate about wild life and nature. She lived in England for a year at age ten and spent summers with relatives in Texas and New York gaining a broader view of the world. Michelle attended Waldorf schools, Pine Hill and High Mowing, in Wilton, New Hampshire, an education system rich in history and the arts. She went on to the New England School of Art and Design in Boston before moving to San Francisco to attend The California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkley. Michelle’s love for the visual arts brought her into the arena of film and photography where she built a career as a prop stylist in San Francisco, Chicago and New York. I'm a film director and editor for social documentary and narrative projects worldwide. I freelance for several television production companies in Haiti, Colombia and Guatemala. I am the creative director of Gabriel Films, documentary production company in New York, where I reside. I work since 2010 in Haiti, where I trained a local team of audio-visual production. With his team, I have produced over 65 short documentaries for the work of NGOs in the country and now I'm carrying the first season of a television series called "A FOREST GROWTH IN HAITI". Some of my most recent work includes a cooking show in Guatemala called DESAFIO CULINARIO, broadcasted in Guatemala’s prime time. I was the editor for the Australian documentary FRACKMAN in 2014. Chris was born in New York City and raised outside of Annapolis, Maryland. His love of acting and filmmaking started at a very young age. From putting on performances for his family, to watching endless amounts of movies and TV. He always knew he wanted to be in the industry somehow, but when he was younger sports was his passion. I am 18 years old, from New York City, currently studying at Bennington College in Vermont. My experience with camera work (still and moving image) both comes from and is influenced by traveling and observing cultures. A trip in 2007 to the Brazilian Amazon with my family inspired Booker Travels: an original web video series about global travel that explores art, history, music, food, and natural landscape. Surfing and skateboarding are also used throughout our episodes as a vehicle for interaction with local cultures and languages. Since starting the project, my involvement behind the scenes has grown, and my ability behind the camera, and producing content, have also led me to other creative endeavors. Konstantin is a film and theater director, who is technically based in Berlin, but divides his time mainly between Germany, the US and Lebanon…or wherever life takes him. He studied applied film, theatre and fine arts at the University of Hildesheim, and Jewish studies and the history and culture of the Middle East at the Freie Universität Berlin. Crystal Kayiza grew-up in Oklahoma and is now a Brooklyn-based documentary filmmaker and 2018 Sundance Ignite Fellow. Her work focuses on pursuing more nuanced and diverse storytelling about Black communities. She is a recipient of the 2017 Jacob Burns Film Center Woman Filmmaker Fellowship. As a Woman Filmmaker Fellow she directed and produced, Edgecombe, a short documentary examining the ways trauma repeats and reinvents itself in a rural Black community in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. After graduating from Ithaca College in 2015 with a degree in Documentary Studies and Production, Crystal spent two years at the ACLU working on racial justice and criminal justice issues. Her documentary work and writing has been featured in The Nation, Scalawag Magazine and OkayAfrica. She received a Heartland Emmy Award in 2012 for her film All That Remains, which profiles Boley, Oklahoma, one of the nation's last all-Black towns.

Alberto Ferreras is a writer and filmmaker known for his award winning novel “B as in Beauty”—published in the U.S. Spain, and Italy—, and for “Habla”, a 14-part documentary series created for HBO Latino in 2003. He is also one of the creators of “El Perro y el Gato”, a bilingual children’s animated show for HBO Family, and “Madres y Comadres” the first web-novela produced by Kmart for the Hispanic market of the U.S.

Alden Peters is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with a BFA in film production at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He also studied documentary and essay filmmaking with the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba in Havana, Cuba. His writing has appeared in Hello Mr. and The Daily Beast, his photography has been posted in GAYLETTER, and his film work has been featured in Out Magazine, Time Out New York, The Huffington Post, NPR, Mashable, BuzzFeed, and many more. Raymond has a Master’s degree in International Relations from National ChengChi University in Taipei, Taiwan and has been working as a producer, cameraman and editor for over 15 years. I'm an award-winning journalist with over twenty years' experience working as a broadcast producer of news and documentaries as well as a reporter for print and radio outlets. As an independent filmmaker, I have developed, co-directed and produced a number of projects for Al Jazeera English, NBC Nightly News, NBC News, The Guardian, and others. As a producer most recently at NBC Nightly News, I regularly produced original reporting, appearing on both TV and online and distributed across all NBC News' social platforms. Some of my work included a profile of a Palestinian sprinter on a mission to compete at the Rio Olympic Games; documentary features on Hurricane Katrina survivors and their fight to repair their battered homes a decade later amidst rampant contractor fraud and a profile of a group of New York's cop watchers. Additionally, I spearheaded NBC News' series coverage of the standoff at the Oceti Sakowin Camp in Cannon Ball, North Dakota, over the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline - contributing dozens of written articles, video features, exclusive scoops and live on-the-ground dispatches. Previously, I worked as a featured contributor for The Guardian US where I covered City Hall in New York City. My most consequential piece there was a months-long investigation into abuses within the city's foster care system. In the piece, I exclusively revealed for The Guardian a watchdog report administered by the New York City Public Advocate's Office that the city's Administration for Children's Services (ACS) had for years abused its power in family courts, wrongly taken children into custody and inadequately assisted those it claimed to help. The article, in addition to a subsequent class-action lawsuit on behalf of the victims, led to Gov. Andrew Cuomo announcing four major reforms to ACS in November 2015. Prior to The Guardian, I worked as a general assignment reporter at Quartz, the Atlantic Media’s global business news site, where I covered everything from the rise of the pro-marijuana legalization movement in the US to a series of features on the covert U.S. drone program and the companies and individuals most closely associated with it. My first job in journalism was as an Associate Producer for a special investigative documentary project, “Marijuana Wars” on the social, legal and moral implications of the nation’s 40-year War on Drugs, both in the US and in Latin America, and the rise of the marijuana legalization movement in the United States for “People and Power,” a long form investigative current affairs program broadcast weekly on Al Jazeera English.

Ras Tre Subira is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with over 7 years of teaching and producing social justice films in several international locations. Ras Tre is the Co-Founder of African Youth Alchemy (AYA Inc.), a community-based nonprofit organization that develops youth as cultural ambassadors who utilize expeditionary learning, media and arts to educate themselves and their community. In 2009, Ras Tre established the Griot's Eye program which equips youth with the technical and creative skills to produce dynamic film and photography projects that address issues of immediate relevance in the lives of Baltimore city youth. I come from the humble midwest, finding myself in the heart of New York. With a dual degree in film and human rights, my career has been a push and pull between hollywood and non-profit organizations. I've worked with a number of film production companies and their big personalities, to local grassroots organizations with more passion than pocket money.
