Deborah Wong is a video journalist in New York City. She is currently a freelance video editor for the News Literacy Project, a nonpartisan national education nonprofit that aims to teach middle school and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age. Before that, she interned at MSNBC as the video intern, creating clips on the 2016 election for NBC/MSNBC's online platforms. She also recently graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, specializing in documentary filmmaking. Steph and Ellen (SE Productions) co-directed and produced AFTER SPRING, a feature documentary about the Syrian refugee crisis. The award winning film was Executive Produced by Jon Stewart and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. It has since screened at over 50 film festivals in 15 countries. AFTER SPRING premiered on STARZ in February 2017. Ellen and Steph are recipients of the Frontline Award for excellent in documentary journalism and are MacArthur foundation grantees. They are experienced in international production and received exclusive access to film AFTER SPRING in the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, 7 miles from the Syrian border. They are currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

Most recently, Samuel co-produced THE EYES OF MY MOTHER, which premiered at Sundance this year and sold to Magnolia Pictures. Prior to that, he worked for the prolific film producer Ed Pressman as his Creative Associate at the Pressman Film Corporation in Los Angeles, where he dedicated himself towards the development of several major motion pictures. Samuel is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and was raised in New York. He got his start by working in production at Dimension Films and post-production at The Weinstein Company. Natalie Abruzzo is a TV reporter, multi-media journalist and filmmaker in New York. Gaia Squarci is a photographer and videographer based in New York City. Raised in Milan, Italy, she studied Art History in at University of Bologna and photojournalism at the International Center of Photography in New York. Gaia’s work focuses on documentary projects. A native Detroiter, she received a BA in Journalism Honors from Wayne State University, and her undergraduate senior honors thesis was a multimedia project that focused on food security in Detroit. My name is Madina Toure and I received my master's degree in magazine, newspaper and online journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I received my bachelor's degree in political science and French at Barnard College in New York City. As an individual with familial ties to the French-speaking world, I hope to report on political and social issues pertaining to minority groups, especially Black and Arab, in France, as well as present-day Francophone countries in Africa. I also have a strong interest in community and ethnic media. Founded while backpacking around the world in 2012 and 2013, Less Than Far Films (formerly Flyover Pictures) is focused on stories of underrepresented communities and disappearing places. I started as a radio reporter, nine years ago, covering international news and anything related to minorities in France.
