Director, cinematographer, producer and editor of “Yakuaya”, award-winning documentary feature, shown at festivals in Africa, America, Asia and Europe. I´ve directed 14 short films and worked on videos on social issues for organizations such as ACNUR / ONU, UNICEF, Fundación Telefónica Movistar, Plan Internacional, Isla Urbana, among others. I´m compromised in film democratization, so I make video workshops for young people and children in Ecuador and México. Also I explore in expanded cinema, video mapping and 3D animation. Born in Chile and based in Mexico city since 2001. He studied Film making in Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). His first work “González, Falsos Profetas” (2014) won the best film award in the Fribourg International Film Festival 2015, best first film in Montreal 2104 and the Ícaro award for the best feature film in Guatemala 2014. Also the Pantalla de Cristal award for Best Screenplay in 2014. In the 11th Morelia FIlm Fest, Carlos Bardem and Harold Torres won the Best Actor award. Also had five nominations for the Ariel awards from the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences: Best First Work, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Sound. Currently he is post-producing his second feature film, “Sanguinetti”, and writing the screenplay for “Conspiracy”, his third work. He founded the film production company AWKACINE in 2016.

Studied cinematography in Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico. Has more than ten years of experience in filmmaking. His works have been in different international festivals like the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, Kustendorff and Raindance. In 2013 he is awarded with the Best Short Film Cinematography award in Ciudad Juarez Film festival for the film "The last veil". He has worked and produced content for brands like National Geographic, Absolut Vodka, P&G and TP Link. In 2014 he shot the documentary short film "Ramos", which won the DocsDF best short film award. Right now he's finishing the postproduction of his first documentary feature film as a cinematographer, "Mi sangre enarbolada", directed by Luis Palomino. He also has worked as creative producer for large mexican digital media companies like Cultura Colectiva & Vice.

Nací en la Ciudad de México, y actualmente resido en el Estado de México. Un par de años trabajé como Asisitente de Arte para producciones Cinematograficas. I am Mauricio Talamantes. I am a filmmaker working mostly for TV. In 2012 I produced, codirected, and shot NEGRO CIMARRÓN, a 30 min. documentary about Yanga, an african slave that founded the first free community in America recognized by the Spanish Crown, in the XVI century Veracruz. The work tells the story of this little known character while it reflects the situation of mexican afrodescendants and afromexican historry. NEGRO CIMARRÓN won a 3rd place prize by IMCINE (Mexico´s film institute) and INAH (Mexico´s Anthropology and History Institute). I´ve also directed commercial productions for E! Entertainment TV, ESPN, Sony Entertainment TV, and more, but my greatest passion in filmmaking are documentary movies. I would be very grateful to be part of this community of filmmakers that show the actuality of the world we live in.

Hi, I'm Santiago Casillas and i'm a multitask guy! I've been working in video production around 4-5 years. I work with a production company called With a Smile Films that resides in Mexico City. My work experience follows several things: i'm capable of operating some cameras, not all of course but i'm very passionate and i learn very fast, i'm very efficient as a soundman, also a cautious drone operator but very precise. I'm very good at editing, i have experience with sound designing and i know how to do motion graphics with after effects. I get very involve with all the different stages in production, pre-production, creating ideas, production itself and the most important post-production, well for me. Also i had the differents experience roles in each stage and i know them very well. Right now i'm evolving from realisation to direction assitant.

I studied Cinema and Television at CENTRO and literature at “Escuela Dinámica de Escritores”. I'm one of the founding members of “Colectivo Detona”, a group of filmmakers dedicated to making documentaries, the diffusion of film culture and educational projects. I was scriptwriter and assistant director at the full length documentaries “Vestiges of paradise) (2012) and “Transit” (2014), which where shown in national and international festivals. As a film programmer I did “¡BOOM!” in Centro Vlady in collaboration of the UACM university. I have published film critics at the magazine “La Tempestad”. My most important project to the moment is the fiction film called “Aimee”, which was completed in the beginning of 2015 and is currently looking for spaces of diffusion. Its a thriller about the dark side of the unconscious.

I'm a video maker since 8 years ago, I start to do short films with just one camera and one actor, later I decide to make my own Producer company and since then I still work in it. I have been doing documentaries lately, the last one "Pal nolte" tells the story of thousands of south American people who trips trough Mexico to get into the United States, and on the way they stop in the North of Mexico in Saltillo Coahuila where there's a Shelter that helps them. I like to show stories that are real, and right now here in Mexico there's a story in every corner. I would love to make short documentaries constantly, I realize that it's really exciting for me. Right now I'm finsihing my Documentary Master Degree in Barcelona.

Born in 1984 Marcos Machado Loría is a costarrican independent filmmaker. In 2015 he directed his first feature film: Ovnis en Zacapa (Ufos in Zacapa) a science fiction crime black comedy shot in Guatemala with the Best Picture System creative colective. In 2012 Marcos directed a feature documentary for the III DOCTv LatinAmerica Series, it is called Ergonomics for Diana. (Both films are availiable for private online screening.) Machado studied filmmaking in the EICTV film school in Cuba and has directed various short films such as Spaghetti Clown (2010), The last taxi (2009), Telefumis (2008) and Tinnitus (2006). He is currently post producing Golden, a short erotic horror film to be premiered in 2016.

Miguel Ángel Sánchez holds a film degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he specialized in Direction and Production. He has been selected to Berlinale Talents 2022. He produced the feature film "The dove and the wolf" which premiered and was awarded at the Locarno Film Festival. As an activist, he was a member of the Autonumus Audiovisual Front, a group of film students working with audio-visual media who have had a significant impact on the student movement in Mexico. He directed the #DignaDigna transmedia project on Digna Ochoa's iconic case. He also directed the documentary series Turtle World on the six marine turtle species that arrive in Mexico and are critically endangered. He currently produces two documentary series for the ViX+ platform.

I was born in Cuba, I trained there as a freelance artist doing photography and different kinds of audiovisual material. Since May 2011, I live and work in Mexico City. I am interested in investigating the processes of communication and relationships between people, their livelihoods and organization, their ways to cope with daily life. Madeline Gunderson is a bilingual video journalist, editor and documentary filmmaker. Madeline is currently a Fulbright grant recipient in Mexico. Madeline has worked as a video producer and editor at USA Today, NBC News, Little Monster Films and Adonde Media. She directed the short documentaries A VALLEY DIVIDED, which premiered at DOCNYC, and LA VIDA DE UN LATERO, a “Best of the Fest '' selection at the Northwest Film Forum. She graduated from New York University’s News and Documentary masters program and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies, where she studied in Spain and Argentina.
