Andreas Knausenberger was born on October 3rd 1982 in Villingen Black Forest, Germany and soon developed his passion for photography, videography and adventure travel. What initially had been a hobby, became the profession and so in addition to his academic studies he worked as a freelance videographer/photographer. During his studies of Sports Sciences in Stuttgart he travelled a lot. In addition to Asia and America, he in particular visited the African continent. When I(Kevin Gitonga), a freelance photographer, was on assignment I came across this inspiring story but I couldn't figure out how to tell the story in a captivating way so as to create more awareness. I was determined to tell the story which revolved around the issue of poverty in spite of having no background in storytelling. But by taking online classes in storytelling I was able to learn the art of telling stories. I was able to write a story about it and posted in on social media. Friends and family reached out and supported her. And the lesson I learnt is that a powerful story can move people into action. Today I help non-profits engage and connect with their audience in the most effective way I.e through storytelling. As a result they are able to raise more money to help millions of people around the world, who need their help. Sam Wolson, is an immersive film director and photographer with editorial partners including National Geographic and The New York Times. He grew up on a flower farm in the suburbs of Detroit Michigan and is currently based out of Berlin, Germany. In 2017 he co-directed the VR film We Who Remain, which was the first character-driven VR film shot in an active war zone -- in the Nuba mountains of Sudan. It premiered at SXSW, won best VR film at SIFF and was a co-production between The New York Times, AJ+, and ARTE. Wolson also received a Google Jump Start camera grant in 2017 to work on a long-term project exploring the aftermath of the nuclear disaster in Fukushima Japan. Over the course of 2017 Wolson also shot several projects for the New York Times Daily 360 project. In 2018 he worked on a four part VR series for National Geographic on the Okavango Delta called the Okavango Experience which documented a group of conservationist on an expedition canoeing across the Okavango Delta in Botswana. In 2019 he was part of teams that received a National Geographic Society grant entitled Documenting Human Migrations and a Journalism 360 Night Foundation grant for immersive journalism exploring the use of field deployable volumetric video. In 2020 his documentary project about Fukushima premiered at Sundance.

Washington was born and raised in Kenya. He started his photography and videography career at age 14 as a High School student, taking event photos of his schoolmates during school trips. His passion grew fast and in the year 2009, he won his first photography award (Runners-up in the High School Nature Photography category at the National Environmental Competition by AFEW-Kenya, Giraffe Centre). From that award, he has continued to win multiple national and international awards, including: 1. First Position in the Underwater Category of the 2016 East African Wild Life Photo Competition 2. Honourable mention in the Best of Nikon Kenya 2016 Photography Competition 3. Third Position in the High School Nature Photography category in the 2010 AFEW-Kenya, Giraffe Centre,National Environmental Competition 4. First position (Tertiary Category) in Nature Photography at the 2013 National Satima Wildlife Clubs Competition His work has been featured in many books and projects, such as "The Birds of Eburu Forest" and "The Birds of Kenyatta University". He has won many conservation awards; including The Daisy Rothschild Award in 2015 and Mr. Environment and Ambassador for Nairobi Province in 2012. He is a passionate author having written articles in many local and international publications. He also leads multiple research projects across Kenya on different conservation and anthropogenic topics. He is also a National Geographic Explorer, on his work with Crowned Eagles. He is a certified Safari Guide and is a member of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA). He has led many trips or expeditions across Kenya, both for private groups and for leading tour companies.Many people often address him as the “Birding Guy”, based on his immense knowledge on avian fauna. He serves as the Kenya Representative for Youth Africa Birding. He founded the Kenyatta University Birding Club in 2014. He is a member of the Bird Committee of Nature Kenya, and chairs the National Bird of Kenya Sub-committee. Through his work, he has received several assignments, such as serving as the Kenya Country Coordinator for the Pan African Network For The Promotion Of A Culture Of Peace And Non-Violence. He is also a speaker at the TED Global 2017 Conference in Arusha, Tanzania. His talk is on birds and why we should all love them. When not out taking photos and shooting films, he serves as the Manager for the Kenya Bird Map Project.
