Randy Wenner is active as a freelance radio journalist, with stories airing regularly on NPR, WAER-FM (the SU campus NPR affiliate) and WRVO-FM (the Oswego NPR affiliate). He is the recipient of a 2013 Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for Best Use of Sound, and several Syracuse Press Club and New York State AP Broadcasters awards. Prior to joining the University, Wenner worked at CBS affiliate WTVH-TV 5 in Syracuse as a news producer, reporter and on-air talent. He also served as program director, during which time WTVH maintained its position as a market leader in an era of declining viewership. He began his career in communications as a news anchor/reporter at WRUN/WKGW radio in the Utica area before joining the staff at WTVH.

Beatrice Katcher is a visual journalist who enjoys covering public health, technology, music, art and culture. She is an experienced photojournalist, writer, social media manager and web content producer. A native Detroiter, she received a BA in Journalism Honors from Wayne State University, and her undergraduate senior honors thesis was a multimedia project that focused on food security in Detroit. Her love of dynamic storytelling is why she is studying multimedia at UC Berkeleys Graduate School of Journalism. Beatrice enjoys traveling and recently studied art and architecture in France. RAVA Films is a team of two filmmakers: Rafael Salazar and Ava Wiland. We've been working together for over three years directing/producing, shooting and editing documentary films and documentary-style branded and promotional videos for a broad range of non-profit organizations and government institutions such as The U.S. Department of State, The Bronx Museum, Art21 and TATE. I'm a documentary filmmaker and journalist focused on telling character driven, personal stories that illuminate a universal social or political issue. I've tended to focus on Latin America, and have worked for Al Jazeera, Dateline NBC, Current TV and VPro. I'm a competent researcher, producer, cameraman, editor, still photographer and writer. Nothing makes me happier than taking a camera into a hard-to-access situation. So far that has included crack houses and sweatshops in Argentina, mail order bride agencies and guerilla organizations in Colombia, and meetings with hit men and scam artists across the US. I'm currently in post production on 2 long form documentaries of my own and until recently was an AP at Dateline NBC.

Tenzin Shakya is a Tibetan-American Journalist with more than four years of experience producing news stories in private and nonprofit journalism. She covers stories related to social justice, peace and security, national security, and human rights. Before becoming a journalist, Shakya worked for Rethink Media, a nonprofit organization working to shift the public discussion on issues related to peace and security, national security, and human rights. I am a videographer who recently relocated from Kentucky to New York City. I'm passionate about documentary-style work and music, and much of my work reflects that.
