My professional life has, for the most part, been with Reuters - a company whose dedication to news accuracy, fairness, and unbiased reporting has shaped me into the journalist I am today. I currently run the North American overnight desk and am responsible for any breaking news from 9pm to 7am. Trump rallies, Black Lives Matter protests, coronavirus updates, California wildfires, celebrity deaths - the news gamut at night is varied and non-stop. It takes a calm head, a fast hand, and sturdy judgement to be a one-person nightly news outlet, but it is rewarding to know that while the country sleeps, I'm making international headlines that will define the next morning. Previously, I worked as a dayside producer in Reuters bureaus in Los Angeles and New York. I interviewed world leaders during the United Nations General Assembly, spoke with A-list stars on the Oscars red carpet, profiled victims of Hurricane Katrina and the Las Vegas mass shooting, and managed one of the first virtual reality news teams in the country. Any journalist will tell you - keep a bag packed, your phone on, and be prepared for anything. It's my life. It's what I do. And I love it.
