Ismail Ferdous is a documentary photographer from Bangladesh, presently lives in New York, who covers social and humanitarian issues. He began his photo and video advocacy project, “The Cost of Fashion”, after documenting the Rana Plaza factory collapse, the worst industrial disaster in history. He continued working on same issue with “After Rana Plaza” project, continuing to spread awareness about the fashion industry and its negative effects on workers in Bangladesh. Ferdous is a contributor to The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. His first assignment for National Geographic magazine, about South Asian Americans, will appear in the September issue.

Deborah Wong is a video journalist in New York City. She is currently a freelance video editor for the News Literacy Project, a nonpartisan national education nonprofit that aims to teach middle school and high school students how to sort fact from fiction in the digital age. Before that, she interned at MSNBC as the video intern, creating clips on the 2016 election for NBC/MSNBC's online platforms. The award winning film was Executive Produced by Jon Stewart and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. It has since screened at over 50 film festivals in 15 countries. AFTER SPRING premiered on STARZ in February 2017. Ellen and Steph are recipients of the Frontline Award for excellent in documentary journalism and are MacArthur foundation grantees. They are experienced in international production and received exclusive access to film AFTER SPRING in the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, 7 miles from the Syrian border. Emmanuel Benhamou has worked with grassroots civil rights activists in the Middle East for over a decade. He studied the region in graduate school at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, and pursued policy work at the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Department of Defense. Yet when uprisings emerged across the Arab world, he decided his time and energies would better be spent outside of government, pursuing an independent project. In summer of 2012, Emmanuel Benhamou recruited a liberal Syrian dissident, Ammar Abdulhamid, and a fellow filmmaker, Larry Herskowitz, to travel to the region with him. Together they set out to give an activist's perspective on the tragedy unfolding in Syria.
