Im Elissa, a visual journalist in Washington, D.C., covering food security through a project funded by The McCormick Foundation. I completed my undergraduate work in documentary film, worked as a video producer at Palio+Ignite, and am now pursing a masters degree in video journalism at Northwestern Universitys Medill School of Journalism. I just finished a short film about the housing crisis in Chicago. The film follows the Anti-Eviction Campaign as the organization takes over abandoned properties left over from the foreclosure crisis on Chicagos South and West sides. I believe there is nothing more exciting or powerful than visual stories, and I would love to collaborate, freelance, or brainstorm in order to tell some excellent ones.
