I managed to make money selling my own work at flea markets and craft shows in the area. Then I came to LA where I have been crafting my photography and video skills, learning everything from working at a production company to being on set of every type of film set or on location. I love working with teams or being out in the field as a one-man-band. I have over 5 years of professional experience in Post Production. I formerly served as the in-house Lead Editor for OS Studios, a full service agency specializing in eSports and gaming content. In my role I was creative lead for all things post-production, and while I was managing multiple projects with quick-turn deadlines, I was also creating video content that is impactful, engaging, and entertaining. Before my time at OS, I was the Junior Editor for an Atlanta based production company called Craig Miller Productions, where I created a variety of videos across a multitude of clients, ranging from large corporations such as Southern Company, to small-town tourist attractions in Henry County, Georgia. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in the spring of 2016, and during my time there was able to explore all aspects of the filmmaking process. I'm a lifelong filmmaker with over 15 years experience as an editor and videographer after graduating from The University of Texas film school. Since before I can remember I have been enamored with the art of storytelling in its many tantalizing forms. What began as joke telling on playgrounds became acting in theater, short story writing and illustrations, animation, then finally cameras and film. From being born in Stockholm, Sweden to growing up in London, Paris, Washington D.C. and Austin, Texas films were my constant. I attended film school at the University of Texas where I wrote and directed my first feature film senior year. After graduation I worked in Austin for 2 years as lead editor and creative director for a video production company where I shot and edited hundreds of videos ranging from commercials to documentaries and video profiles for Olympic athletes.   I moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2009 and spent the next 8 years working with "A-list" talent on a multitude of projects ranging from award winning films, to music videos, commercials, trailers and web series. I recently moved to the east coast to develop my 2nd feature film "Mangoland" to be shot in West Africa. Whether I'm working on a feature film, music video or commercial, my focus is always set squarely on enlightening, love infused, resonant and engaging storytelling.

I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't have a camera. I've been doing creative storytelling through the medium of video and photo all my life. From shooting, editing and burning DVD's for my sister's dance recital at age 12 to filming events put on by billionaires, and crafting my own web-series and films in between. Katie Mathews is a filmmaker and cultural anthropologist based in New Orleans. She has experience in production management, directing, and editing, but her primary passion is creative producing documentary and hybrid films. Most recently, Katie directed and produced the POST COASTAL, a series of documentary shorts about coastal communities’ response to land loss in Louisiana, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and in partnership with the Smithsonian and Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. She is currently producing MOSSVILLE, a documentary feature currently in post production, that explores the psychological trauma of community displacement at the hands of the petrochemical industry, and is developing ROLEPLAY, feature documentary about performance and vulnerability. Prior to her work in film, Katie worked as an anthropologist and ethnographer at global design firm IDEO, where she led qualitative research, using individual stories to inspire new systems in education and the public sector. Katie holds a BA in Communications from Northwestern University and has completed continuing education work at the Duke University Center for Documentary Studies and in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Chicago. Additionally, Katie teaches Research Methods in Social Innovation at Tulane University, and is currently leading a research and documentary project around sexual assault with students on Tulane’s campus.

Photographer and documentarian Ben Powell’s assignments as a cinematographer have taken him to communities around the world, while his documentary films as a director have focused on landscapes near and dear. His adopted home state of Texas and the obsessive characters (and celebrities) that collect its historical treasures play a central role in “Phil Collins and the Wild Frontier,” which premiered at the 2013 New Orleans Film Festival. I went on to study Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University where my senior thesis, “Camera Stabilization with a Stewart Platform”, won the Enoch J. Durbin Prize in engineering innovation. After graduating from college, I moved back home to Brooklyn to pursue my passion for filmmaking. I studied writing, directing, and cinematography at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and made several award winning short films, both as a director and a cinematographer. I now run a production company called Gates & Greene where I create and direct video campaigns for clients like Princeton University, Dom Perignon, and Bystander Revolution, an anti-bullying organization, where I also served as Creative Director for two years. I'm also the Creative Director of “BTYM”, the Youth Ministry at my church, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, famous for its six-time Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

Marcus is a Louisiana filmmaker who has had a hand in several areas of production from local tv spots to Hollywood South films. A New Orleans native and St. Augustine alum, he finished college at LSU receiving his Bachelor's in the area of Communication Studies while working with Tiger TV news and sports, as well as, several LSU theatre and media productions. He's worked in the Louisiana film industry since 2013 and have been apart of over 15 film and television projects during that time. He recently produced, directed, and shot an episode of BetteR, a documentary web series produced by NOVAC, which highlights groups and individuals in the Baton Rouge community in the aftermath of the events of the summer of 2016. The episode focuses on the internal and external struggles of media members, specifically WAFB Channel 9 in Baton Rouge, during the city’s most trying time and national spotlight. What started out as a simple short documentary episode, now has grown into a feature-length project, which is currently in production.
