Hello, My name is Jay James and I've been working in the visual medium for more than 6 years. My main skill is boom operator, sound recording and when it is needed I can do Foley. It all began with assisting my videographer friend on commercial jobs for businesses around North Carolina. It was just simple grip work but I enjoyed being apart of the projects. Eventually my same friend began to do documentaries and later feature films, which is where I started to help with sound. To date I have assisted in capturing audio for seven featured films for him. Along the way I have worked on other feature films, corporate projects and commercials. Because of these opportunities I am able to own all my equipment and be proficient in using it. Michelle Divon is an Israeli-American journalist and TV host living in NYC and working as a news anchor and reporter for News12 Networks. Michelle previously worked at i24NEWS in Jaffa, Israel where she hosted a daily documentary show called High Definition. Since moving to the city, Michelle has emceed various events, including the annual Israel Parade co-anchored with Fox5. She has emceed events for various organizations including the WJC, JNF, FIDF, UJA, Soroka Medical Center, Batsheva Women, JCRC, AICF, & Portugal Ministry of Tourism. Dayna is a recent graduate of Chapman University, where she received an MFA in film production, with an emphasis in directing. She has written and directed 9+ short narrative and documentary films. For documentary work, she has traveled to Kenya and across the United States. She hopes to speak to social issue themes in her narrative films, inspired by her undergraduate background studying comparative politics at Princeton University. Her independent research at Princeton focused on refugees and victims of trafficking. Her short film “Qafas” about a family in Syria was recently nominated for a Student Short Jury Award at Austin Film Festival. Her thesis “Aurora” was supported by the Zonta Club of Newport Harbour Award of 2019 through Chapman University’s prestigious Women in Focus Award. Before delving into the virtual reality space, Adam won several awards for his screenwriting and directing, including the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition, the Script Pipeline Screenwriting Competition and the Vimeo Awards. In October 2015, HD Video Pro wrote an article called A New Medium Emerges about Adam's innovative virtual reality storytelling. His third VR film, Knives, was nominated for a Lumiere Award, a Proto Award and won Best VR Experience at the 2017 Sitges Film Festival. Kayla Tong (b. 1993) is a cinematographer and director. She was born in colonial Hong Kong, molded by Los Angeles, and briefly called Missouri and Lisbon home in between. After graduating from USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2015, her narrative and documentary work have screened in a number of venues such as The New Yorker Documentary Series, Busan International Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, and LA Shorts Fest. Kayla is a Busan’s Asian Film Academy's cinematography fellow, a Visual Communications’s Armed with a Camera Fellowship directing fellow. Kayla's rootless upbringing and encounters with people from around the world inform the themes of much of her work, telling stories of diaspora and displacement. Liz Scherffius is a trilingual freelance journalist and a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting fellow. She specializes in documentary film and investigative data journalism. As a video journalist for the BBC, she covered immigration, civil liberties, and women's issues. Originally from southwestern Montana, Liz pursued Latin American Studies as an undergraduate at Pitzer College, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Upon graduation, she began her journalism career in Argentina and Ecuador. As a Master’s candidate at the Columbia School of Journalism, she made a 30-minute documentary film about refugee resettlement in New York City. Eric Paul Maryea - Began his career as a writer and director of corporate training films for a multinational utility company, National Grid. For 12 years he has been instrumental in developing a library of films to train the next generation of electric and gas workers.
