DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, CINEMATOGRAPHER Raúl is an emerging Mexican-Immigrant filmmaker, making East Harlem NYC his home. He is a CINE Golden Eagle Award Winner, a Princess Grace Award recipient and a 2017 Tribeca Film Institute All Access Program recipient. I'm a director of photography and video producer with over 12 years experience shooting national television, corporate films and documentary projects. I have extensive international experience leading projects in a variety of locations including Japan, India, Turkey, Poland, France and throughout the United Kingdom. I've taught film-making workshops for high-school aged students in International schools in Turkey and India and in addition have overseen documentary productions for educational nonprofit and nongovernmental work in India including programming focused on poverty reduction through female education in Kolkata, India. For the past several months I've been handling petabytes of data on at the National Geographic Channel. I worked with editors and producers to ensure a seamless media workflow, and kept deliveries to our digital distribution partners on-time. Before NatGeo I was at The Washington Post, where I was in numerous roles as a technical director, editor, web producer, and videographer. Sebastian Diaz is a New York based filmmaker and Emmy awarded editor (THE AND web series) originally from Mexico. His short documentary TOÑITA'S was a part of MoMA Documentary Fortnight 2014. His feature doc BRILLIANT SOIL was awarded the Material Culture & Archeology Film Prize at RAI Fest of Ethnographic Film, Edinburgh 2011. Sebastian photographed and edited the award winning documentary TIJUANEADOS ANONYMOUS. He co-founded BULBO Art Collective, which produced a documentary series broadcast in US and Mexico about Tijuana-San Diego border culture where he was raised (Univision and Channel 22). His work has been exhibited internationally at MoMA (NY), ARCO (Madrid), The MAK Museum (Vienna), InSite_05 (Tijuana-San Diego), among many others. Rachel Beth Anderson, a Sundance award wining cinematographer, has filmed around the world in several conflict zones including Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Turkey, and South Sudan, for CNN Heros, PBS Frontline, Human Rights Watch, and independent feature documentaries First To Fall and E-TEAM. After participating in a Fulbright sponsored Journalism program based in Cairo, Rachel graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Journalism school where she filmed and co-produced a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award winning doc Breaking Down Barriers. Rachel officially made the move to Cairo, Egypt in 2010. During the 2011 Egyptian revolution Rachel worked as a videographer and field producer for PBS Frontline. Her footage from the uprising is also included in multiple long form documentaries for BBC, POV and independent feature films Zero-Silence and Uprising. Rachels award winning documentary, First To Fall, was borne of a 7-month journey spanning the Libyan war. Her directorial debut film was a Gucci/TriBeCa grant recipient (2012) and had its World Premier screening at the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) in late 2013. I am a documentary filmmaker, NYC born, with family ties to Ukraine. I work as a freelance shooter and editor for different clients. In 2004 I made an award winning feature length documentary on the Orange Revolution in Ukraine called "The Orange Chronicles". You can see it in the URL below. More recently I created and produce a web series on the New York City rock and roll scene called NYC ROCKS TV. It's a behind the scenes look at the characters and personalities active in the contemporary scene. We are currently in our second season, which you can see at www.NYCROCKS.TV Currently there is a major uprising in Ukraine. What started out as demonstrations in support of Ukraine's President signing a trade agreement with the EU looks like it will be a serious attempt to overthrow the current Ukrainian government. The opposition has called for a nationwide strike and resignation of the current regime. As during the Orange Revolution, demonstrators have set up a camp and fortified Independence Square as well as blocked government buildings. President Yanukovych has not blinked and does not look likely to negotiate. I am looking to go back now to film current events.

It is not unusual for my films to come out of my personal experience. A crucial component for me is to address what it is to be living at a certain moment in history. The Andre Show is the story of a young boy with AIDS my husband and I adopted shortly before he died during this global medical epidemic. 71 West Broadway: Ground Zero, NY is the street address of our loft located about 2 blocks north of the World Trade Center. I began filming that story from our doorstep during the terrorist attacks. The film follows the impact on us as well as the immigrant small business owners on our block as we all struggled to move back home after the evacuation of the Red Zone. Invisible Revolution captured a revealing interview with a young racist, Ben Smith, just 2 weeks prior to the deadly shooting rampage he went on in Indiana and Illinois before shooting himself. Among the stolen lives was the much beloved Ricky Birdsong, the former Northwest University basketball coach. This is the core of my voice as an artist in which my true collaboration is with the characters within my film.

My experience ranges from editing a documentary about revolutionary journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal, to conducting interviews with government officials, to producing an on-site documentary for a multinational corporation. Most recently, I produced, shot and edited a documentary about the oil boom in Williston, North Dakota. This project showcases my technique as both a reporter and visual storyteller, as I was responsible for developing government sources, winning the trust of oil workers at the labor camp I was staying in, and then designing a visual narrative that honored the integrity of this community while also shining a light on the challenges they faced.

Hi, my name is Ines and I'm a New York-based multimedia journalist. I currently freelance as a correspondent for the Irish Times New York correspondent, and at ABC News Nightline. I cover all kinds of stories, often on a tight deadline. In the past year Ive reported from three countries for two networks and an international newspaper; and produced two documentaries one about illegal Irish immigrants arriving in America, the other about the conservative turn among young American Catholic priests, for which I travelled to Italy as part of a Scripps Howard endowed reporting team. I've also covered the Syrian conflict for the past two years, and events like the US Presidential election and the 2012 Olympics Games in London. But if I had to sum up the kind of stories I hunt,the ones that are my favorite, it's character-driven narratives that point to bigger social-justice issues. I prefer "embed" style process pieces told through a strong person/people about things that matter to at least one person. For example, I'm currently working on a juvenile justice story and telling it through the journey of one 12-year-old in Indiana, charged with murder. Looking forward to hunting!

My name is Mathias Magnason and I am currently freelancing as an editor and documentary filmmaker in the New York area. Between 2010 and 2012 I worked as a director and consultant for the Chinese independant TV station NTDTV in New York creating award winning documentaries and TV series such as Journey To The East and Free China. Human Rights, and especially abuse of human rights in China has been a big part of my journalistic work for the last ten years. I have also done documentary film work in Africa through UN and SIDA, and SVT in sweden. My two most recent works was editing a one hour documentary for Swedish Television about a native swedish musician working to bring the ancient Sami folk song to life again, and a shorter segment for NHK Science and Nature in Japan. I would like to hunt for stories about ordinary people entering extraordinary circumstances, discovering new aspects of life and themselves in the process. Universal questions and issues channelled through what is deeply personal and specific, is what interest me the most.

I’m Alan Thompson and I’m an award winning filmmaker from Baltimore, MD currently living and working in New York City. After relocating to NYC more than 15 years ago, I’ve been working in documentary for just as long. As a director/producer/editor I’m fascinated with the lives of individuals who are often overlooked — along with their issues surrounding the environment, preservation and culture — and my goal is to present their stories in as authentic a manner as possible. Flor de oro Tejada is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and creative producer based in the Bronx, New York. Flor’s documentary and narrative films explore the histories of Black, Indigenous, Latinx/e and LGBTQIA+ communities through fantasy, futurism, and healing.
