I am a video journalist who recently graduated from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Before moving to New York I was the managing editor of Salt Lake Underground Magazine, a free monthly music publication based in Salt Lake City, UT for three and a half years. I've interned with New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine and SPIN. I'm interested in stories about music, art and youth culture and how these things intersect in daily life. I've spent the last year and a half covering the Brooklyn neighborhood of East New York and while there I've become interested in stories about urban poverty, education, immigration and human rights. I just wrapped a project about an East New York marching band that keeps children off the area's dangerous streets and away from gangs. Next up, I'd like to do a video story about single fathers in the city or the rights of pregnant foster children. I'm always on the hunt for compelling characters.
