I'm Paul Screvane; filmmaker, audio engineer, video & music producer, musician and proud United States Air Force veteran. ​ Music and Film have always been my passion, it is an art form that instantly transports me into a state of flow and out of any negative headspace. Over the past five years, I've merged music with my love for visuals through filmmaking. I love collaborating with artists in my local community to bring their talent to life through sound design and visuals. ​ I work as a producer and production manager for a media company based in Brooklyn. I am well-equipped to execute any part of the production process. I use Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, Avid Pro Tools, Garageband/Logic and After Effects for all of my projects. I am also proficient behind the camera and a trained drone pilot, I also have equipment to do audio recordings in studio and in a live setting. ​ In my spare time, I dabble in voice over recording, graphic design, live stream and make music videos. I’m a writer, director and cinematographer living in New York City. I’ve written and directed sketches for Comedy Central, DP’d for the ViacomCBS Showcase, and had one of my self-produced PSA parodies featured by Vulture as one of the best comedy shorts of 2021. As part of the Comedy Central team, I wrote, directed, shot, and edited for the digital series "That’s An App?”. One of the episodes was the brand’s #1 piece of original content across Facebook & IGTV in all of 2020 and won the IGTV Audience Honor at the 2021 Shorty Awards. Additionally, I’ve worked on branded projects for Geico, Squarespace, Sour Patch Kids, and Sonos, and as well as a myriad of indie projects ranging anywhere from documentaries to mockumentaries. Other claims to fame include my ability to drink a cup of coffee and immediately nap, Steve Buscemi calling one of my videos “Hysterical”, and an excellent credit score of 813*. *As of today. ​

Nicole Teeny is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Nicole started NYU film school having never seen an R rated movie and only 1.5 PG-13 films (she grew up a community that censored media). While in undergrad, for her first feature documentary, Nicole turned the camera on her own community for BIBLE QUIZ, a coming-of-age doc about the evangelical sport of Bible memory. BIBLE QUIZ won the Slamdance Grand Jury Award (and 9 other Grand Jury festival awards), played on Netflix, theatrically in seven cities at Alamo Drafthouse movie theaters, on Kanopy, on the Sundance Channel Global in 20+ countries, and was selected for the US State Department’s “American Film Showcase”. Hollywood Reporter called it "instantly lovable" and the LA Times said it was “Smart, funny, and disarming”. Nicole followed that beat and is in post-production on her second feature documentary, BULLETPROOF STOCKINGS, about the first all-female Hasidic rock band. It won the Doc-a-chusetts Pitch, LEF Moving Image grant and Cambridge art grants, and was a finalist at Fork Films and Chicken & Egg. Nicole also makes documentary shorts and series. THE WRITER exhibited at 2015 Viennale and over 50 international galleries and museums as a part of Harun’s Farocki’s “Labour in A Single Shot”. Her branded docu-series COMMUNAL FUTURES about collectives with The Collective featured a queer mosque, a makerspace, and an ecovillage. Nicole has also worked with The HuffPost (formerly The Huffington Post) and Bloomberg News Video. Her narrative film script PUBLIC POOL was selected for the Berlin Film Festival Short Film Station and also won 5 film festival screenplay awards including Best of at the Pheonix Film Festival & Sacramento Film Festival. She's been an artist in residence at Virginia Creative Center for the Arts, Brush Creek Arts Foundation, Arts Kibbutz, and collaborated with the MIT Media Lab. She's a member of Film Fatales, and Diverse Filmmakers Alliance.

Winner of a Student Academy Award and six Emmys, I am a Spanish director, producer, and director of photography based in New York. As a TV producer, I received six Emmy® Awards for my work at the cultural magazine Nueva York (CUNY TV), about Latinos in New York. I am also the co-producer and director of the video content of the transmedia documentary project “Sonic Trace”, produced by Anayansi Diaz-Cortes with support of ITVS, NEA, Cal Humanities, KCRW, AIR, and PBS. As part of this project, I recently finished the documentary "Still Dreaming", which will premiere on PBS. As a director of photography, I have shot several documentary projects, including "Of Kites and Borders" (Dir. Yolanda Pividal, Winner of Best Documentary at the San Diego Film Festival, 2013), “Sloan at 75” (Dir. Lisa Beth Kovetz, 2011, winner of a Communicator Award). Michael Premo is an artist, journalist and documentary storyteller. He has created, produced and presented original works of art and media with numerous companies including the Peabody Award winning StoryCorps. He’s a co-creator and Executive Producer of Sandy Storyline (www.sandystoryline.com), a participatory documentary that collects and shares stories about the impact of Hurricane Sandy on our neighborhoods, our communities and our lives. The project won the inaugural Transmedia Award from the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival. With Andrew Stern he shot and is producing/directing a photo exhibit and film called Water Warriors, documenting a Canadian First Nation's struggle to protect their water. His radio documentaries have been broadcast internationally and his photography has appeared in numerous outlets including Left Turn, The Village Voice, The New York Times, Narrative,ly, and Het Parool (Holland).

I am a bilingual multimedia journalist who have worked in the digital, print and broadcast industry. I started my journalism career a decade ago at the New York Daily News as a reporter and assistant editor for a Spanish-language print publication. Later, I became the papers first Spanish-language online editor, and ultimately, I was a Special Sections Editor. My professional attributes include fluency in both English and Spanish, as well as advanced multimedia skills on video, audio, interactive tools and social media. I hold a M.A. in Journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism Urban and Interactive reporting concentrations. I also have more than fifteen years of experience in film and theater in Venezuela and the United States. A few titles under my belt as a producer are "Bus Stop" and "The Bugchaser." At school, Bennett discovered his first loves, drama and painting. However, he didn't enjoy acting as much as devising the scripts and painting was a lonely endeavour and an under-appreciated art form. After school, Bennett's appreciation for social sciences lead him to a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Durham University where he had time to start messing around with cameras. All of a sudden, filmmaking seemed the perfect fit for his lifelong passion. He suddenly had the freedom to use his creative sensibilities to bring life to real world stories. Bennett currently works freelance in a range of production disciplines including advertising, documentary, music videos and film. He has worked for commercial clients such as Arla, Guinness and Johnnie Walker and has made video journalism content for ITV and the Daily Telegraph. His recent film, 'A Man and His Horse,' was awarded Best Short Doc at the LA Cinema Festival of Hollywood.

I am a 2013 graduate of the Medill School of Journalism, specializing in multi-media journalism, with a focus on politics and cultural reporting. I have nearly a nearly a decade of experience as a writer, reporter, and researcher. My interests include national security, political organizing, human rights, and climate change, among many others. From 2013-2014, I worked with Susan Farkas, a veteran TV producer, on short-form documentary projects completed for the UN’s International Foundation for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Al Jazeera’s program America Tonight. I also spent five months as a news assistant with NY1, where I conducted interviews and filmed video used by reporters and anchors as part of their daily packages and investigative pieces. Last fall, I was a researcher and production assistant with Jigsaw Productions, where I assisted a team of producers assembling multiple episodes for a documentary series, Death Row Stories, which aired on CNN. I grew up in New York City, and graduated from Georgetown University in 2005. From June of 2005 until September of 2007, I worked in Washington, DC for Rep. Louise M. Slaughter and the House Committee on Rules as a press and communications staffer. I then joined the Obama for America campaign as a field organizer. I worked in Iowa for three months, primarily focusing on high school outreach in towns around the state. After the caucus on January 3rd, 2008, I campaigned for Obama in Utah, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Montana, and Ohio. In May of 2009, I joined the staff of Media Matters for America, where I was a writer and media analyst until May of 2010, at which point I left the organization and moved to Chicago, IL to pursue journalism. I was an intern at the Chicago Reader from September until December, 2010, and subsequently contributed freelance blog posts and pieces to that paper.

My background is in filmmaking. I am in development of a long form documentary about transnational abandonment and immigrant women's rights. The process of creating a film is quite long and there are many stories passing by that I think need attention, so I'm eager to move more into news. I am interested in focusing on immigrant and refugee stories: struggles of undocumented immigrants, families separated by borders, refugees creating new homes, cultures shifting in a new landscape. Having lived in NYC for the past 8 years, I have worked alongside, befriended and taught people from all over the world. Their unique perspectives and struggles form an important part of our identity and chapter in our history. And, I believe their stories deserve attention from a thoughtful, open eye. I am also interesting in doing profiles on unique individuals: the Olympian back to daily life after the games, principal dancers traveling with the American Ballet Theater, the community leader behind the political machine. Giving others a glimpse of these public figures when they are not in the spotlight will provide an unseen perspective and reflect the culture that produces these roles.

A pioneer in the DIY filmmaking movement, Boonsri has been profiled by several prominent media publications, most recently in TechCrunch and Scientific American, for her innovative use of digital technologies. As a journalist, Boonsri has written and produced thought-provoking features on issues such as genetics, medicine, astronomy, consumer technology, startups, privacy, and the BYOD trend. She has written for Discover Magazine, Thomson Reuters Venture Capital Journal, Wired, Forbes, CNET, Business Insider, CBS interactives SmartPlanet and BYTE. She has interviewed some of the worlds top scientists and entrepreneurs such as paleontologist Jack Horner and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. She holds a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied particular collision and complex systems in the pharmaceutical industry. As an undergraduate, Boonsri studied microfluidics and material science. Boonsri is based in New York City.

At worst a I'm a con artist, at best a raconteur. I'm also a writer and filmmaker. In Feb. 2013 I was handpicked by the Sundance Institute to participate in their inaugural Screenwriters Intensive with my feature script DOLORES. Most recently I was credited as co-director & editor of THE STATE OF ARIZONA (ITVS) about Arizonas controversial Papers, please law. Currently I write on a freelance basis for websites such as Remezcla and Warscapes about film, music, culture, politics and heavy existential stuff. I like to tell stories about and within the Latino community regarding immigration, race, gender, labor, social justice, women issues and identity. I like to explore questions in the LGBT community that deal with sexuality, shame and normalcy (how it's defined and by whom). I have interest in politics and policy, specifically how they function on an everyday level and directly impact individuals. Lastly, I have a deep appreciation for art, and love to wax philosophical about how aesthetics, technology and culture meet/collide.

*Applying through POV* I was 14 years old when my English teacher scolded me for trying to get into the prestigious science class at my high school. She wanted me to tell stories for a living. It was an idea that sounded foreign to a girl from the countryside of a small island. More than a decade later I encountered so many stories in my peripatetic life that they consumed me. I had to tell them. I finally understood what my teacher tried to convey years ago to her clueless teenage student. Today I am becoming a multimedia journalist in order to tell these stories. I have a keen interest in documentary videos and video for the web. I love character driven stories, stories that explore the life of one character but is an example of a bigger social issue. Issues of deportation, race, mental health and culture intrigue me. I believe we have a duty to tell underreported stories to effectively understand how society works. I therefore seek out intriguing niche narratives.

One of the most defining moments of my life is when I traveled to Indonesia for 6 weeks in 2005 after the devastating tsunami that killed over 200,000 people. I wanted to tell the stories of remote villages that did not receive mainstream aid. My shooting experience was almost non-existent but the experience of finding stories in that way made me realize I didn't want to do anything else with my life. I won a Webby Award and raised enough money for two girls to receive life saving surgery. Since this experience I've worked professionally as a Producer, Shooter and Editor for Cantaloupe.TV and recently started my freelance career in 2012. I'm constant traveler and have been to over 20 countries and 5 continents documenting everything from Ultra Running in the Arctic to the Haitian earthquake in 2010. My strength lies in shooting in difficult situations and finding stories as they unfold. What drives me is when seemingly disparate ideas come together to create meaning that only happens when you're in the right place at the right time. I'm a 24-year old graduate from the University of Texas with a BS in Radio/Television/Film. The stories I'm looking to tell involve the post-Internet era. I grew up in a very sequestered area in rural Texas, so in my youth I spent large amounts of time online as a means of meeting people, combating loneliness and gaining understanding of the world outside my own. Technological progress at this point in world history is at an interesting point, and the side-effects of growing up online are becoming more apparent as those who have lived their entire lives under the presence of the web grow into adulthood. Through my past online, I've met a wide array of figures, but I'd like to focus on the most extreme cases. For instance, college students obsessed with hook-up or dating apps, or teenagers who spend hours cultivating a separate identity from their real life over the course of social media, as well as younger children who spend as much time online as I did. I am a professional deadline beater and a multimedia journalist. I wanted to become a journalist because I was always asking questions. By the time, I finished my MA in International Relations at Kings College London, I knew I was wrong. But it was too late by then. So I cut my teeth freelancing for the Times of India in Calcutta, and then spent four years with Business Standard, an Indian financial daily. I was the newspapers Southeast Asia correspondent, based out of Singapore, and most recently, a special correspondent (and multimedia dogsbody) in New Delhi. I attended the Multimedia Journalism programme at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University in 2012-13. My video work has appeared on The Economists website, TheAtlantic.com and Quartz. Currently, I spent time as a Fulbright scholar at Columbia Universitys Graduate School of Journalism, where I still ask questions regularly. I'm interested in stories about people, stuck in unusual personal, political or economic predicaments.

As a dedicated documentary director and cinematographer, I bring important questions and ideas to my audience and allow them to examine an issue as if they are experiencing it themselves. I will be very grateful for the opportunity to put the best of my creative and technical abilities to work for story hunter and the issues examined. I have over four years experience in film-making and television production including, documentary film, camera operation for local television news, and production and post-production work for independent feature film. My professional experience has taught me to be absolutely dedicated to a story and take it through to completion in spite of any challenges that arise. Sometimes hard work can reveal subtleties not readily apparent at first viewing, but which are expressed through the creative process. I am most passionate about finance, environmental issues, human interest stories, and political topics.

Dear Carlos, My name is Mark Zemel. I worked at Pitchfork TV for the last five years as a Series Producer and Editor, but recently left to go freelance full time. Pitchfork is a fairly small production operation which means I handled all aspects of producing content. I pitched, produced, directed, shot, edited and animated content on tight budgets and tight timelines. Since leaving Pitchfork I've worked for ABC, The New Yorker, PBS Digital Studios, The Fader, and Paste Magazine. At Pitchfork I directed and edited a number of documentaries, including The Queen Diva from earlier this year which is a Special Selection at the 2013 ASVOFF Film Festival in Paris. I was also the Series Producer for the +1 series. I would pitch the bands to cover, crew the shoot, direct it, interview the bands and edit on an extremely tight timeline. I produced over 50 episodes of that series and theyve since gotten over 2 million views. While doing that I also directed and edited several other documentaries, multiple sessions, and was the exclusive editor and artist for the Over/Under series. I was born in the industrial city Chelyabinsk, Siberian part of Russia. My hometown made the headlines in 2013 as a city, where the Meteor fall down. I have a Bachelor degree in Journalism from Russia and a Master's degree in Journalism from City University of New York. I am passionate about storytelling and i have been involved into video production on all its stages. From researching and pitching stories, to shooting, producing, editing and delivering the final product. I've worked on a lot of diverse projects ranging from purely broadcast style to self-narrative online videos. The past years i learned all the nuances of the web storytelling. I master my skills every day by working part time as a camera operator and watching frame-by-frame those videos i consider to be masterpieces. [Applying through POV] I've worked as a filmmaker and youth media educator for the past 15 years in New York, creating high-quality stories exploring innovative responses to chronic social issues: particularly primarily prison reform, economic justice, and urban education. After years freelancing for Time.com, Carnegie Hall, and directing a feature doc that was broadcast on PBS World in 2011, I've increasingly been returning to my roots as a youth media educator. My goal has been to cultivate young people into highly professional filmmakers who can produce stories with a freshness of perspective, and access to worlds that remain hidden to mainstream media. The current project "Echoes of Incarceration" works with youth with incarcerated parents. In its first year, the young filmmakers have already been hired as a professional crew for clients including Carnegie Hall, and we're now partnering with Sesame Workshop. We're currently in the final stages of editing our first three advocacy films.
